2. Setup and Assembly

The Bodytone DT18 Treadmill features a Plug&Train system, meaning it comes largely pre-assembled for quick and easy setup. Follow these steps for initial installation:

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the treadmill from its packaging. It is recommended to have two people for this process due to the unit's weight (81 kg).
  2. Placement: Choose a flat, stable surface for the treadmill. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for safe operation and maintenance. The assembled dimensions are approximately 77 cm (width) x 114 cm (length) x 138 cm (height).
  3. Unfolding (if applicable): If the treadmill is in a folded position for transport, carefully follow the instructions to unfold it. The folded dimensions are approximately 114 cm (length) x 77 cm (width) x 139 cm (height). The integrated transport wheels allow for easier movement before unfolding.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power cable to a suitable electrical outlet.
  5. Safety Key: Ensure the safety key (often a red clip) is properly attached to the console and to your clothing during operation. The treadmill will not start without the safety key in place.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Bodytone DT18 Treadmill. The maximum recommended usage is 20 hours per week.

4.1 Running Belt Maintenance

The DT18 features a BODYTONE self-lubricating belt. This anti-static belt eliminates annoying small electrical discharges and self-lubricates to prevent irreparable damage to the motor. While self-lubricating, it is still advisable to periodically check the belt for any signs of wear or debris and clean it as needed.

4.2 General Cleaning

  • After each use: Wipe down the console and handlebars with a soft, damp cloth to remove sweat and dust.
  • Weekly: Vacuum underneath the treadmill to remove dust and debris that could accumulate and affect performance.
  • Monthly: Inspect all bolts and screws to ensure they are tight. Retighten if necessary.

4.3 REACT Cushioning Technology

The integrated REACT cushioning technology adapts to each stride, reducing impact on joints. While this system is designed for durability, avoid placing heavy objects on the running deck when not in use.

    • Verify that the treadmill is on a level surface.
  • Unusual noises:
    • Inspect the area around and under the belt for any foreign objects.
