1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Velamp Big Daddy LED Inspection Lamp. This robust and versatile work light is designed for various applications, including car repair, garage work, camping, and emergency situations. It features a powerful 3W COB LED providing 400 lumens of illumination, multiple lighting modes, a convenient clip, and a magnetic base for hands-free operation. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper operation and safety.

2. Safety Information

  • Battery Safety: Use only the specified battery type (3x AA). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Insert batteries with correct polarity (+/-). Remove batteries if the lamp will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Light Source: Do not stare directly into the LED light. The intense light can cause temporary vision impairment.
  • Heat: The lamp may become warm during prolonged use. This is normal.
  • Water Resistance: This lamp is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to heavy rain or immersion in water.
  • Children: Keep out of reach of children.
  • Disposal: Dispose of batteries and the product responsibly according to local regulations.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The Velamp Big Daddy LED Inspection Lamp requires 3 AA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment cap at the bottom of the lamp.
  2. Unscrew the cap by turning it counter-clockwise.
  3. Insert 3 AA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cap and screw it clockwise until securely tightened.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

The lamp features a single push-button switch for power control and mode cycling.

  1. To Turn On: Press the red power button once. The lamp will activate in 100% white light mode.
  2. To Change Modes: While the lamp is on, press the power button repeatedly to cycle through the available modes:
    • 1st Press: 100% White Light (Full Brightness)
    • 2nd Press: 50% White Light (Reduced Brightness)
    • 3rd Press: Red Flashing Light (Emergency/Warning Mode)
    • 4th Press: Turn Off
  3. To Turn Off: Continue pressing the button until the lamp turns off, or press and hold the button for a few seconds in any mode.

5.2 Using the Clip and Magnet

The lamp is equipped with a sturdy clip and a powerful magnet for versatile mounting options.

  • Clip: Use the integrated clip to attach the lamp to your belt, pocket, or other suitable edges for convenient carrying or temporary hands-free lighting.
  • Magnet: The strong magnet located at the base of the lamp allows you to securely attach it to any metallic surface, such as a car hood, metal workbench, or electrical panel, providing illumination exactly where you need it.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

When the light output diminishes, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 4.1 to replace the 3 AA batteries. Always replace all three batteries at the same time with new ones.

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the lamp with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the lamp's finish or internal components. Ensure the lamp is dry before storing or using.

6.3 Storage

If storing the lamp for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage and damage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
