Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the walkie talkie.
  2. Press down on the clip and slide the battery cover downwards to open.
  3. Insert 4 x AAA batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

Powering On/Off

  • To turn on: Press and hold the MENU/POWER button until the LCD screen illuminates.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the MENU/POWER button until the LCD screen turns off.

Operating Instructions

Channel Selection

The walkie talkies feature 22 main channels for communication.

  1. Press the MENU button once. The channel number on the LCD display will flash.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
  3. Press the MENU button again to confirm your selection or wait a few seconds for it to automatically set.

Sub-code (Privacy Codes)

Sub-codes help ensure privacy by filtering out unwanted conversations on the same channel. Both walkie talkies must be on the same channel and sub-code to communicate.

  1. Press the MENU button twice. The sub-code number will flash.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to select your desired sub-code.
  3. Press the MENU button again to confirm or wait for automatic setting.

Push-to-Talk (PTT) Operation

To speak, press and hold the PTT button located on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button when you are finished speaking to listen for a response.

Call Alert Function

Press the CALL button (music note icon) once to send an audible call alert tone to other walkie talkies on the same channel and sub-code.

Flashlight Function

Press the FLASHLIGHT button (light bulb icon) once to turn the LED flashlight on. Press it again to turn it off.

Key Lock Function

To prevent accidental changes to settings, press and hold the MENU button until a key lock icon appears on the display. To unlock, press and hold the MENU button again.

Automatic Scanning

The automatic scanning feature allows you to quickly find active channels. To activate, press and hold the UP or DOWN button until the scan icon appears. The walkie talkie will scan through channels and stop on an active one. Press PTT to talk on that channel or MENU to exit scan mode.
