5. Setup

5.1. Mounting the SRO

The Trijicon SRO utilizes the same mounting footprint as the Trijicon RMR. Ensure you have a compatible mounting plate or slide cut for installation. Refer to your firearm's manual or the mounting plate instructions for specific torque specifications and installation procedures.

  • Align the SRO with the mounting plate or slide cut.
  • Secure the SRO using the appropriate screws. Apply thread locker if recommended by the mount manufacturer.
  • Tighten screws to the manufacturer's specified torque. Overtightening can damage the optic or mount.

  • Using a flathead screwdriver or coin, carefully unscrew the battery cap counter-clockwise.
  • Insert a fresh CR2032 lithium battery with the positive (+) side facing up.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of your Trijicon SRO.

  • Cleaning the Lenses: Use a soft, clean cloth and lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. Gently wipe the lenses to remove dust and smudges.
  • Cleaning the Housing: Wipe the exterior housing with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the CR2032 battery annually or when the dot appears dim or flickers.
  • Storage: Store the SRO in a dry, temperature-controlled environment when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Trijicon SRO, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Dot Not Visible: Check if the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary. Ensure the brightness is adjusted appropriately for ambient light conditions.
  • Dot Flickering or Dim: This often indicates a low battery. Replace the CR2032 battery.
  • Inaccurate Zero / Not Holding Zero: Ensure the SRO is securely mounted to the firearm. Check mounting screws for proper torque. Verify that the windage and elevation adjustments are not loose.
  • Distorted Dot: While the SRO is designed for a crisp dot, individual astigmatism can sometimes cause the dot to appear distorted. Try viewing the dot through a rear iron sight or a small aperture to see if the distortion persists. If it does, and you suspect a product defect, contact Trijicon support.
