3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Mounting Considerations
The camera can be mounted in various configurations including junction mount, ceiling mount, wall mount, and pole mount. Choose a location that provides the desired field of view and is within reach of power and network connections.

3.2 Physical Installation
- Prepare the Mounting Surface: Use the provided mounting template sticker to mark drill holes on the desired surface (wall, ceiling, or junction box).
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes according to the template. Insert wall anchors if mounting on drywall or masonry.
- Attach Mounting Plate: Secure the camera's mounting plate to the surface using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Connect Cables: Route the Ethernet cable through the mounting surface or cable entry point. Connect the Ethernet cable to the camera's network port. If not using PoE, connect the 12V DC power adapter. Use the waterproofing housing for the Ethernet connector to ensure IP67 integrity.
- Mount the Camera: Align the camera body with the mounting plate and secure it. Adjust the camera's angle for optimal viewing.

3.3 Micro SD Card Installation and Reset Button
The camera supports a Micro SD card up to 512 GB for local storage. The reset button is also located near the SD card slot.
- Access Slot: Carefully open the cover on the camera body to reveal the Micro SD card slot and reset button.
- Insert Micro SD Card: Insert the Micro SD card into the designated slot until it clicks into place.
- Reset Button: To reset the camera to factory defaults, press and hold the reset button for approximately 10 seconds while the camera is powered on.
- Close Cover: Ensure the cover is securely closed to maintain the IP67 rating.

4. Operation
4.1 Initial Power-Up and Network Connection
Once the camera is physically installed and connected to power (PoE or 12V DC), it will power on. Connect the camera to your network via the Ethernet cable. The camera will obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP by default.
4.2 Accessing the Camera
You can access and configure the camera using various methods:
- Web Browser: Use a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) to access the camera's web interface by entering its IP address. You may need to use a discovery tool to find the camera's IP address on your network.
- Computer Management Software: Utilize Smart PSS or DSS software for comprehensive management on a computer.
- Mobile App: Download and install the DMSS app on your smartphone or tablet for remote viewing and control.
