Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before assembly and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Always use caution when handling components, especially those with potentially sharp edges, during assembly.
  • Ensure proper ventilation when using the greenhouse, particularly in enclosed spaces, to prevent overheating of plants.
  • Be aware of potential UV exposure to plants, even with the protective cover. Monitor plant health regularly.
  • Handle the assembled greenhouse with care due to its size and weight to avoid injury. It is recommended to move the unit with assistance.
  • Secure the greenhouse properly, especially in outdoor environments, to prevent wind damage.

Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Ohuhu customer support.

  • PE Cover (1)
  • Metal Poles (various lengths for vertical supports, horizontal supports, and roof structure)
  • Plastic Connectors (for joining poles)
  • Wire Shelves (4)
  • Shelf Fixing Clips (8)

Setup and Assembly

The Ohuhu Mini Greenhouse is designed for toolless assembly. A rubber mallet may be helpful to ensure all connections are secure.

Assembly Steps:

  1. Assemble Shelf Layers: Lay a plastic connector piece on a flat surface. Insert three metal poles into the designated holes. Place another plastic connector on the opposite end, ensuring the metal poles align with its holes. Gently tap the plastic connectors with a rubber mallet until the poles are securely seated. Repeat this process for all four shelf layers.
  2. Construct the Vertical Frame: Place one assembled shelf layer on the floor. Insert four vertical metal rods into the corner holes of this base shelf. Place a second assembled shelf layer on top of these vertical rods and tap it into place until secure. Continue stacking the remaining shelf layers onto the vertical rods until all four shelves are installed.
  3. Install Top Structure: Place four shorter vertical rods onto the top shelf's corner holes. Attach the remaining two plastic connector pieces to the top of these rods. Connect the curved top pieces into the topmost connectors (those with three holes) and join them with a straight rod to form the roof peak. Carefully place this sub-assembly onto the top plastic pieces and tap into place, focusing taps just above the curved area, close to the vertical supports.
  4. Secure Connections: Verify that all pole-to-connector connections are tight and stable.
  5. Place Wire Shelves: Position the wire shelves onto their respective frames. Secure each wire shelf with two fixing clips, one in the front and one in the back, to enhance stability.
  6. Install the PE Cover: Unzip the PE cover by a few feet. Carefully slide the cover over the assembled frame, starting from the top. Continue unzipping as needed to fully position the cover over the entire structure. Once in place, zip it down.
  7. Tie Down the Cover: Use the built-in straps to secure the cover to the frame, ensuring a snug fit and improved stability.

Operating Instructions

General Use:

  • Plant Placement: Arrange plants on the four shelves according to their light and space requirements. Each shelf can hold up to 22 lbs.
  • Temperature and Humidity Control: The PE cover helps maintain a relatively constant temperature and humidity, protecting plants from extreme heat or cold.
  • Ventilation: Utilize the roll-up zippered door for easy access and to regulate air circulation. The screened ventilation helps deter small animals.
  • Adjustable Shelving: Shelves can be removed to accommodate taller plants, providing flexibility for various plant sizes.

Seasonal Use:

  • Winter Protection: Provides shelter for plants from freezing temperatures, extending the growing season.
  • Summer Protection: Shields plants from intense heat, preventing scorching and excessive water loss.
  • Seedling Germination: Ideal for starting seeds indoors or outdoors, offering a stable environment for germination and early growth.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Cover: Periodically wipe down the PE cover with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris, ensuring maximum light transmission. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Frame Inspection: Regularly check all pole connections and plastic connectors for tightness and stability. Re-tap with a rubber mallet if any connections feel loose.
  • Shelf Clips: Ensure all shelf fixing clips are securely in place to prevent shelves from shifting.
  • Zipper Care: Keep zippers clean and free of dirt to ensure smooth operation and prolong their lifespan. Avoid forcing a dirty or stuck zipper.
  • Wind Stability: For outdoor use, place heavy objects (e.g., stones, concrete pavers) in the bottom pockets of the cover or secure the greenhouse to the ground using stakes or ties to prevent it from being blown over by strong winds.
  • Storage: If disassembling for storage, clean all components thoroughly and store them in a dry, protected area to prevent rust and material degradation.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Greenhouse feels unstable after assembly.Poles not fully seated in connectors; uneven ground.Ensure all poles are fully inserted into connectors, using a rubber mallet if necessary. Place the greenhouse on a level surface. Secure with weights or stakes if outdoors.
Cover does not fit properly or has gaps.Frame assembled incorrectly; cover not aligned.Double-check frame assembly against instructions. Ensure the cover is fully unzipped and carefully pulled over the frame from top to bottom, then zipped up.
Zipper is difficult to operate or stuck.Dirt or debris in zipper teeth; zipper misalignment.Clean zipper teeth with a small brush. Apply a silicone-based lubricant if needed. Avoid forcing the zipper.
PE cover shows signs of wear or cracking prematurely.Prolonged exposure to extreme weather; material fatigue. While the cover is durable, extreme conditions can affect its lifespan. Consider reinforcing vulnerable areas with greenhouse repair tape. Ensure proper storage during off-seasons.
Shelves are not holding weight as expected.Exceeding weight limit; clips not installed or loose.Ensure individual shelf weight does not exceed 22 lbs. Verify that all shelf fixing clips are correctly installed and secure.
