1. Product Overview

The Haoge LH-B46P is a 46mm square metal screw-in lens hood designed to attach to lenses with a 46mm filter thread. Its primary function is to minimize lens flare by blocking stray light from entering the lens. Additionally, it provides physical protection to the front element of your lens against accidental impacts and scratches.

This lens hood features a hollow-out design and includes a metal cap for added protection when not in use.

3. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure your camera lens has a 46mm filter thread. This size is typically marked on the lens barrel or underneath the lens cap, often preceded by a "Ø" (diameter) symbol (e.g., Ø46).

1. Attach the Lens Hood and Lock Ring: Screw the lens hood and the separate lock ring clockwise into your lens's 46mm filter thread. Continue until they are fully threaded, but do not overtighten at this stage.
2. Adjust Orientation: Gently rotate the lens hood and lock ring together counter-clockwise until the lens hood is in the desired horizontal position.
3. Secure the Hood: While holding the lens hood in its horizontal position, rotate only the lock ring clockwise until it is tight against the lens hood, securing it firmly in place.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the lens hood operates passively. It extends beyond the front element of your lens to block unwanted light sources that could cause lens flare or ghosting in your images. It also acts as a physical barrier, offering protection to the lens.

For optimal performance, ensure the lens hood is correctly oriented (horizontal) as per the installation steps.
