3. Setup and Installation

This section provides general guidelines for installing your Respekta composite sink. Professional installation is recommended. Ensure all local plumbing codes are followed.

Pre-Installation Checklist:

• Verify sink dimensions (100 x 50 cm) against your cabinet opening. The sink is designed for base cabinets with a minimum width of 60 cm.
• Ensure you have all included components and necessary tools (e.g., drill, jigsaw, sealant, screwdriver, wrench).
• Confirm the desired orientation (left or right draining board) before cutting tap holes.

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Countertop: If not already done, cut the opening in your countertop according to the sink template (not included, typically provided with the countertop or available from manufacturer). Ensure the edges are smooth and clean.
2. Punch Tap Holes: The sink's tap holes are not pre-punched. Carefully determine the location for your faucet and other accessories (e.g., soap dispenser). Use an appropriate hole saw or drill bit for composite materials to create the necessary openings. Start with a small pilot hole and gradually increase the size.
3. Install Faucet and Accessories: Mount your chosen faucet, soap dispenser, and any other accessories onto the sink before placing it into the countertop. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for these items.
4. Apply Sealant: Apply a bead of silicone sealant around the perimeter of the sink opening on the countertop. This will create a watertight seal.
5. Position the Sink: Carefully lower the sink into the countertop opening, ensuring it is properly aligned. Press down firmly to engage the sealant.
6. Secure the Sink: Attach the included mounting clamps to the underside of the sink and tighten them against the countertop. This will secure the sink in place.
7. Connect Plumbing: Install the drain and overflow fittings, connecting them to your household plumbing. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Install the 90 mm siphon and strainer basket.
8. Test for Leaks: Turn on the water supply and check all connections for any leaks. Run water into the sink and through the drain to ensure proper drainage.

4. Operating Instructions

The Respekta composite sink is designed for everyday kitchen use. Its durable Mineralite material is suitable for various tasks.

• General Use: Use the main bowl for washing larger items and the smaller bowl for rinsing or disposing of food waste. The draining board is ideal for air-drying dishes or preparing food.
• Temperature Resistance: The sink is temperature resistant up to 180°C, allowing for hot pots and pans to be placed on it, though it is always recommended to use a trivet for extremely hot items to prolong the sink's life.
• Drainage: Ensure the strainer basket is in place to prevent food particles from entering the drain and causing clogs.

5. Care and Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Respekta Mineralite sink. The material is designed to be easy to clean and resistant to aggressive chemicals.

Daily Cleaning:

• After each use, rinse the sink thoroughly with warm water to remove any food residues or liquids.
• Wipe the sink dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots and mineral buildup, especially in hard water areas.
• For general cleaning, use a mild dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth.

Stain Removal:

• For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for composite sinks can be used. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals (e.g., strong acids or alkalis) as these can damage the surface.
• Promptly wipe away highly pigmented liquids like coffee, tea, or red wine to prevent staining.

Preventative Measures:

• Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects into the sink, which could cause chips or cracks.
• Do not use the sink as a cutting surface.
• Periodically clean the drain strainer to ensure proper water flow and prevent clogs.
