3.1 Control Panel

4. Setup

4.1 Assembly

1. Attach the lower shaft to the middle shaft, ensuring the spring clips engage.
2. Mount the 11-inch DD search coil to the lower shaft using the provided non-metallic bolt and washers. Do not overtighten.
3. Wrap the coil cable securely around the lower and middle shafts, leaving enough slack for adjustment, and plug the connector into the control unit. Ensure the connection is tight and waterproof.
4. Slide the control unit onto the upper shaft and secure it with the locking mechanism.
5. Adjust the shaft length to a comfortable position for your height, ensuring the coil is parallel to the ground when sweeping.

4.2 Charging the Battery

The Anfibio Multi is equipped with a built-in Lithium Polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery.

• Locate the charging port on the control unit.
• Connect the provided charging cable to the port and a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
• The charging indicator on the display will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.
• Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed for waterproof integrity.

4.3 Attaching Wireless Headphones

The detector comes with wireless headphones for clear audio feedback.

• Ensure both the detector and headphones are powered on.
• Access the 'Wireless' option in the detector's settings menu.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to pair the headphones. Once paired, audio will be transmitted wirelessly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

• To power on, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display illuminates.
• To power off, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display shuts down.

5.2 Basic Operation

After powering on, the detector will typically start in the last used mode. It is recommended to perform a ground balance before searching.

• Frequency Selection: The Anfibio Multi offers 5kHz, 14kHz, and 20kHz VLF frequencies. Access the 'Frequency' option in the settings to select the optimal frequency for your target and ground conditions. Lower frequencies are generally better for deeper, larger targets, while higher frequencies are better for smaller, shallower targets and low-conductivity metals.
• Ground Balance (GB): Essential for stable operation and depth. Hold the GB button and pump the coil up and down over the ground until a stable ground balance value is achieved. Release the button.
• Sensitivity (Gain): Adjust the 'Gain' setting to control the detector's sensitivity. Higher sensitivity increases depth but can also increase ground noise. Start with a moderate setting and increase as conditions allow.
• Discrimination (Disc): Use the 'Disc' setting to eliminate unwanted targets (e.g., iron). Adjust the discrimination level to reject specific target IDs.
• Pinpointing (PP): Once a target is detected, press the PP button to enter pinpoint mode. Move the coil slowly over the target area to locate its exact position. The audio pitch and visual indicator will help narrow down the location.

5.3 Search Modes

The Anfibio Multi features several search modes, each optimized for different conditions:

• GEN (All Metal): Detects all metals, offering maximum depth.
