5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
The CS-106 radio is powered by two AA batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks.

5.2 Initial Power On
After installing the batteries, slide the main Power Switch (located on the side) to the 'ON' position. The display will light up, and the radio will power on.
5.3 Antenna Adjustment
For optimal FM and SW reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. For AM/MW/LW reception, the internal ferrite bar antenna is used, and rotating the radio may improve signal strength.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
To turn the radio on, slide the side Power Switch to 'ON'. To turn it off, slide the switch to 'OFF'. You can also use the front 'ON/OFF' button for standby mode.
6.2 Band Selection
Press the FM, MW, or SW buttons to cycle through the available frequency bands. The selected band will be displayed on the screen.
6.3 Tuning
Use the TUNING Up/Down buttons to manually adjust the frequency. Press and hold these buttons for automatic scanning to the next strong station.
6.4 Volume Control
Press the VOLUME + button to increase the volume and the VOLUME - button to decrease it. Press the MUTE button to temporarily silence the audio.
6.5 Setting the Clock
To set the time:
- Press the TIME button. The hour digits will flash.
- Use the HOUR button to adjust the hour.
- Press the TIME button again. The minute digits will flash.
- Use the MINUTE button to adjust the minutes.
- Press the TIME button one more time to confirm and exit time setting mode.

6.6 Storing and Recalling Stations
The radio can store up to 60 stations (20 for FM, 20 for MW, 20 for SW).
- Tune to the desired station.
- Press and hold the MEMORY button until the display shows a flashing memory location number.
- Use the TUNING Up/Down buttons to select the desired memory location.
- Press the MEMORY button again to save the station.
- To recall a stored station, briefly press the MEMORY button, then use the TUNING Up/Down buttons to select the memory location.
6.7 Using Headphones
Plug the included in-ear headphones into the 3.5mm Headphone Jack on the side of the radio for private listening. The internal speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.
