Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your saw.
- Cleaning: After each use, unplug the saw and use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust and debris from the motor vents, blade guard, and base plate.
- Blade Inspection: Regularly inspect the blade for sharpness, damage, or missing teeth. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately.
- Cord Inspection: Check the power cord for any cuts, fraying, or damage. Do not use the saw if the cord is damaged.
- Lubrication: Refer to the original manufacturer's manual for specific lubrication requirements, if any.
- Storage: Store the saw in a dry, secure location out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
Below are common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | No power, faulty switch, tripped circuit breaker. | Check power connection, ensure safety switch is engaged, reset breaker. If problem persists, seek professional service. |
| Blade binds or smokes | Dull blade, incorrect depth setting, forcing the saw, material pinching blade. | Replace blade, adjust depth, reduce feed rate, ensure workpiece is properly supported to prevent pinching. |
| Inaccurate cuts | Loose blade, incorrect bevel setting, worn blade, improper alignment. | Tighten blade, re-adjust bevel, replace blade, ensure kerf indicators are correctly aligned. |
