Setup Guide

1. Insert MicroSD Card

  1. Ensure the dash cam is powered off.
  2. Locate the MicroSD card slot on the side of the main unit.
  3. Insert a Class 10 or higher MicroSD card (up to 128 GB) into the slot until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.

Important: Format the MicroSD card within the dash cam's settings menu before first use and periodically thereafter to ensure stable recording.

2. Install the Front Dash Cam

  1. Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam.
  2. Attach the suction cup mount or adhesive mount (depending on your model) to the dash cam.
  3. Mount the dash cam on the windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror, ensuring it does not obstruct your view.
  4. Adjust the lens angle to capture the road ahead clearly.

3. Install the Rear Camera (Optional)

  1. Connect the rear camera cable to the main dash cam unit.
  2. Route the cable neatly along the vehicle's headliner and A-pillars to the rear of the vehicle.
  3. Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield, ensuring a clear view.
  4. Adjust the rear camera's angle as needed.

4. Connect Power

  1. Plug the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
  2. Connect the other end of the power cable to the dash cam's power input port.
  3. Route the power cable neatly to avoid interference with driving.

The dash cam will typically power on automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on and power is supplied.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • Automatic: The dash cam powers on and begins recording automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
  • Manual: Press and hold the Power button to manually turn the device on or off.

Recording Modes

  • Loop Recording: Records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Recording): Automatically locks and saves the current video segment if a sudden impact or collision is detected. These files are protected from being overwritten.
  • Parking Monitor: (If supported and hardwired) Records automatically when motion or impact is detected while the vehicle is parked.

Wi-Fi Connectivity and App Usage

The VTR219GW features Wi-Fi connectivity for easy access to recordings and settings via a smartphone app.

  1. Download the official BOYO VISION app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Turn on the dash cam's Wi-Fi function via the device settings.
  3. On your smartphone, connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password will be displayed on the dash cam screen or in the app).
  4. Open the app to view live footage, browse recorded videos, download files, and adjust settings.

Playback

  • On Device: Use the navigation buttons to access the playback menu on the 3-inch LCD screen. Select the desired video file to play.
  • Via App: Connect your smartphone to the dash cam via Wi-Fi and use the app's playback function.
  • On Computer: Remove the MicroSD card and insert it into a computer's card reader. Use a compatible media player to view the video files.

Troubleshooting
