Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your HPI Racing Jumpshot 1:10 Monster Truck V2 RTR 2WD. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating your vehicle to ensure proper function and longevity.
Safety Information
Operating remote-controlled vehicles requires caution. Failure to operate safely can result in injury or damage to property. Always follow these guidelines:
- Operate in open areas away from people, pets, and obstacles.
- Do not operate near public roads or in crowded areas.
- Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from moving parts.
- Always disconnect the battery when not in use or during maintenance.
- Use only recommended batteries and chargers.
- This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm (Proposition 65 warning).
- Recommended age for operation is 14 months and up, but adult supervision is always advised.
Setup
1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the vehicle for any visible damage that may have occurred during shipping. Ensure all parts listed in the packaging contents are present.

2. Battery Installation
The Jumpshot V2 features an easily accessible battery box from underneath the truck. It accommodates larger 7-cell NiMH packs or 2S LiPo batteries. Ensure the battery is fully charged before installation.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the chassis.
- Connect the charged battery to the T-plug connector on the Electronic Speed Controller (ESC).
- Carefully place the battery into the compartment and secure the cover.

3. Transmitter Setup
Install fresh batteries into your transmitter. Power on the transmitter first, then the vehicle. The Jumpshot V2 RTR comes pre-bound, but refer to the separate transmitter manual if re-binding is required.
4. Initial Checks
Before driving, perform the following checks:
- Verify steering response: Wheels should turn left when the steering wheel is turned left, and right when turned right. Adjust steering trim if necessary.
- Verify throttle response: Pulling the trigger should make the vehicle move forward, pushing should engage brakes/reverse.
- Ensure all screws are tight and no parts are loose.
Operating Your Vehicle
1. Basic Controls
Your Jumpshot V2 is controlled via a pistol-grip style transmitter:
- Steering Wheel: Controls left and right direction.
- Throttle Trigger: Pull for forward motion, push for brake and reverse.
2. Driving Tips
Start slowly to get accustomed to the vehicle's handling. The Saturn 12-turn, 550-size motor provides significant power and acceleration. Practice in an open area before attempting advanced maneuvers.
- Avoid prolonged full-throttle operation, especially on high-traction surfaces, to prevent overheating.
- The waterproof LiPo-ready electronic speed controller allows operation in various conditions, including grass and mud, but avoid submerging the vehicle.
- Be mindful of battery life. Performance will decrease as the battery drains.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your Jumpshot V2.
1. Cleaning
- After each run, remove dirt, dust, and debris from the chassis, suspension, and drivetrain. Use a soft brush or compressed air.
- Avoid using water directly on electronics, despite the ESC being waterproof.
2. Drivetrain and Bearings
The vehicle features rubber-sealed ball bearings throughout the drivetrain. Periodically inspect and clean them. If bearings feel gritty or restrict movement, they may need lubrication or replacement.
- Check the gearbox and gears for wear or damage. The heavy-duty material is designed for durability, but extreme impacts can cause issues.
- Inspect the dog bone axles and stub axles for wear or bending.
3. Suspension and Steering
- Check shock absorbers for leaks or damage.
- Ensure all suspension arms move freely without excessive play.
- Inspect steering linkages for bends or loose connections.
