4. Setup and Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your WOLTU Portable Greenhouse. It is recommended to assemble the greenhouse with at least two people.

  1. Assemble the Base Frame: Connect the longest straight tubes using the appropriate plastic connectors to form the rectangular base of the greenhouse.
  2. Build the Vertical Structure: Insert the shorter straight tubes into the base connectors to create the vertical supports. Ensure all connections are firm.
  3. Attach Shelves: Slide the metal grid shelves onto the horizontal tubes at desired heights. Secure them with the provided shelf clips to prevent movement.
  4. Install Roof Frame: Attach the two roof frame sections to the top vertical tubes using the remaining connectors.
  5. Drape the PE Cover: Carefully place the PE cover over the assembled frame, ensuring the roll-up door is positioned at the front.
  6. Secure the Cover: Fasten the PE cover to the steel frame using the integrated ties or straps to prevent it from shifting.
  7. Anchor the Greenhouse: For added stability, especially in outdoor environments or during windy conditions, insert the four ground stakes through the designated loops at the base of the greenhouse into the soil.

5. Operating Instructions

Proper operation ensures optimal plant growth and extends the life of your greenhouse.

  • Plant Placement: Arrange potted plants on the four shelves, ensuring adequate space for growth and air circulation. Avoid overcrowding.
  • Ventilation and Temperature Control: The front panel features a roll-up door with a zipper. Open the door to allow for ventilation and to regulate the internal temperature and humidity. Secure the rolled-up door using the attached ties to keep it open.
  • Watering: Water plants as needed. The PE cover helps retain moisture, so monitor soil dampness to prevent overwatering.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help prolong the life of your greenhouse.

  • Cleaning: Clean the PE cover periodically with a soft cloth and mild soapy water to remove dirt and maintain optimal light transmission. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Frame Inspection: Regularly check all frame connections and shelf clips to ensure they are secure. Tighten any loose parts as needed.
  • Cover Integrity: Inspect the PE cover for any tears, punctures, or signs of wear. Small tears can often be repaired with specialized greenhouse repair tape to prevent further damage.
  • Seasonal Storage: For long-term storage or during periods of extreme weather (e.g., heavy snow, strong winds), it is advisable to disassemble the greenhouse and store its components in a dry, protected area.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Greenhouse Instability: If the greenhouse feels unstable, ensure it is placed on level ground. Verify that all frame connections are fully engaged and secure. Use the provided ground stakes to anchor the unit firmly into the soil.
  • Poor Ventilation/High Humidity: If you notice excessive humidity or poor air circulation, fully open the roll-up door during the day to improve airflow. In very humid climates, consider adding a small, battery-operated fan for additional air movement.
  • Insufficient Light: Ensure the PE cover is clean and free of debris that might block sunlight. If plants are still not receiving enough light, consider relocating the greenhouse to a sunnier spot in your garden or balcony.
  • Pest Infestation: Regularly inspect your plants for any signs of pests. Clean the greenhouse interior thoroughly to remove any potential pest habitats. Consider using organic pest control methods if necessary.
