1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the EverNice Double Toe Walking Foot. This presser foot is designed to assist in sewing various materials, including leather, upholstery, canvas, and tents, by providing even feeding of multiple layers.

3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the Double Toe Walking Foot on your compatible sewing machine:

1. Prepare the Machine: Turn off your sewing machine and raise the presser foot lever. Loosen the screw that holds the current presser foot in place.
2. Remove Existing Foot: Carefully remove the existing presser foot from the machine.
3. Attach the Outer Foot: Position the outer foot component of the walking foot onto the presser bar. Align the screw hole on the outer foot with the screw hole on the presser bar. Secure it with the screw, ensuring it is firm but not overtightened.
4. Insert the Inner Foot: Slide the inner foot component into the outer foot, ensuring it sits correctly within the mechanism. The inner foot should move freely within the outer foot.
5. Verify Installation: Gently lower the presser foot lever to ensure the walking foot is properly seated and moves smoothly. The feed dogs of the walking foot should align with the machine's feed dogs.

4. Operation

The Double Toe Walking Foot is designed to provide consistent feeding for challenging materials and multiple fabric layers. Its independent upper and lower feed dogs work in conjunction with your machine's feed dogs to prevent shifting, puckering, and uneven stitching.

• Material Handling: This foot is particularly effective when sewing thick materials like leather, vinyl, canvas, or when quilting multiple layers of fabric.
• Even Stitching: The walking foot mechanism ensures that all layers of fabric are fed through the machine at the same rate, resulting in more even and professional-looking stitches.
• Adjustments: Ensure your machine's tension and stitch length are appropriate for the material thickness you are sewing. Test on a scrap piece of fabric before beginning your project.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your walking foot:

• Cleaning: Periodically remove lint and dust from the foot, especially around the feed dogs and moving parts, using a small brush or compressed air.
• Storage: Store the walking foot in a clean, dry place when not in use to prevent rust or damage.
• Inspection: Regularly inspect the foot for any signs of wear, bending, or damage. Replace if necessary to ensure optimal sewing performance.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while using the Double Toe Walking Foot, consider the following:

• Foot Does Not Fit / Is Too Tight:
  Ensure your sewing machine model is listed as compatible. Some machines may have slight variations. If the fit is excessively tight, verify that the presser bar screw is not obstructing the foot's attachment. Do not force the foot onto the machine, as this can cause damage.
• Foot Is Too Loose:
  Confirm that the presser foot screw is securely tightened. If the foot still feels loose, it may indicate a compatibility issue or a manufacturing tolerance variation.
• Uneven Feeding / Skipped Stitches:
  Check that the walking foot is correctly installed and that its feed dogs are engaging properly with the fabric and the machine's feed dogs. Adjust thread tension and needle size according to the material being sewn.
• Noise During Operation:
  Ensure all parts are securely fastened and that there is no interference with other machine components. A small amount of sewing machine oil on the moving parts of the walking foot (if recommended by your machine's manual) might reduce friction, but avoid over-oiling.
