4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Water Filter Installation
- Locate the Filter Compartment: The water filter is typically located in the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment of your refrigerator.
- Remove the Old Filter: Twist the old filter counter-clockwise to unlock it, then pull it straight out. Some water may drip, so have a towel ready.
- Prepare the New Filter: Remove the protective cap from the new PUREPLUS RWF4700AC filter.
- Insert the New Filter: Align the new filter with the filter housing. Push it in firmly and twist clockwise until it locks into place. You should feel a click or resistance when it's properly seated.
- Flush the System: After installation, dispense approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the dispenser to flush out any air and carbon fines. This ensures optimal filtration and taste.
- Reset Filter Indicator: Refer to your refrigerator's manual for instructions on how to reset the "Change Filter" indicator light.

4.2 Air Filter Installation
- Locate the Air Filter Compartment: The air filter is typically located at the top rear of the fresh food compartment, often labeled "Fresh Air Filter".
- Open the Cover: Gently twist or unclip the cover of the air filter compartment to expose the old filter.
- Remove the Old Air Filter: Carefully pull out the old air filter.
- Insert the New Air Filter: Place the new PUREPLUS air filter into the compartment, ensuring it is correctly oriented.
- Close the Cover: Securely close the air filter compartment cover.

5. Operating Instructions
After installing a new water filter, it is crucial to flush the system to ensure optimal performance and remove any trapped air or loose carbon particles. Dispense water from the refrigerator's water dispenser for approximately 3-5 minutes, or until 2-3 gallons of water have been flushed through the system. This process helps activate the filter and ensures clean, fresh-tasting water.
6. Maintenance
- Water Filter Replacement: Replace the water filter every 6 months or after filtering 200 gallons of water, whichever comes first. Regular replacement ensures continuous access to clean water.
- Air Filter Replacement: Replace the air filter every 6 months to maintain a fresh and odor-free refrigerator interior.

7. Troubleshooting
- Filter Not Fitting: If the filter does not twist in easily, the connector in the refrigerator's housing might be misaligned. Use the provided alignment tool (if included) or gently adjust the internal mechanism to ensure proper alignment before re-attempting installation. Do not force the filter.
- Water Leaks After Installation: Ensure the filter is fully inserted and twisted clockwise until it locks securely. If leaks persist, remove the filter, check the O-rings for damage, and re-install.
- Cloudy Water or Bad Taste After Installation: This is often due to air or carbon fines in the new filter. Flush the system by dispensing several gallons of water until the water runs clear and tastes fresh.
- Low Water Flow: A new filter should improve water flow. If flow is low, ensure the filter is correctly installed and fully seated. If the issue persists, the filter might be clogged prematurely (rare) or there could be an issue with the refrigerator's water line.
- TDS Reading Not Significantly Lower: As mentioned in the features, this filter is designed to remove harmful substances like chlorine and heavy metals while retaining beneficial minerals. Therefore, a high TDS reading does not necessarily indicate poor filtration, as beneficial minerals contribute to TDS.
