5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Connecting the Telephone

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset jack on the side of the telephone base.
  2. Connect the Telephone Line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack labeled "LINE" on the back of the telephone base. Plug the other end into your telephone wall jack.

5.2 Desk or Wall Mounting

The Alcatel T28 can be used on a desk or mounted on a wall.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Making a Call

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Listen for a dial tone.
  3. Dial the desired telephone number using the keypad.
  4. Once the call is complete, replace the handset in the cradle.

6.2 Receiving a Call

  1. When the telephone rings and the visual call indicator flashes, lift the handset to answer the call.
  2. Once the call is complete, replace the handset in the cradle.

6.3 Last Number Redial

To redial the last number you called:

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press the Redial button. The telephone will automatically dial the last number.

6.4 Ringer Volume Adjustment

Locate the ringer volume control switch on the side or back of the telephone base. Adjust it to your preferred volume level (e.g., High, Low, Off).

6.5 Tone/Pulse Dialing Selection

Most modern telephone systems use tone dialing. If you are connected to an older system, you may need to switch to pulse dialing. Locate the Tone/Pulse switch on the telephone base and set it according to your telephone line type.
