1. Important Safety Instructions

  • Voltage Compatibility: This appliance is designed for 220-240 volts only. It is NOT FOR USE IN USA, CANADA, or other 110-120V regions. Using it with incorrect voltage will damage the appliance and may pose a safety hazard.

3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, filter basket, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth.
  3. Positioning: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter.
  4. First Brew Cycle (Water Only): Fill the water reservoir with cold water up to the 12-cup mark. Place the empty filter basket with the permanent filter inside. Close the top lid. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Plug the coffee maker into a 220-240V power outlet. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle with only water. This cleans the internal components. Discard the water after the cycle. Repeat if desired.

4. Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee:

  1. Open the top lid of the coffee maker.
  2. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. If using a paper filter, ensure it is properly seated in the filter basket.
  3. Add desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level measuring spoon (provided) per 2 cups of water, adjusting to personal taste.
  4. Fill the glass carafe with cold water to the desired number of cups, using the cup markings on the carafe.
  5. Pour the water from the carafe into the water reservoir, ensuring not to exceed the MAX fill line indicated by the clear water level indicator on the side.
  6. Close the top lid securely.
  7. Place the empty glass carafe with its lid on the warming plate.
  8. Plug the coffee maker into a 220-240V power outlet.
  9. Press the ON/OFF button to begin the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  10. The anti-drip feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe to pour a cup before the brewing cycle is complete. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
  11. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'keep warm' function for approximately 35 minutes.
  12. After 35 minutes, the coffee maker will automatically shut off.

Setting the Clock:

  1. When the coffee maker is plugged in, the LCD display will show '12:00 AM' or the last set time.
  2. Press the HOUR button to set the current hour. Hold to scroll quickly.
  3. Press the MIN button to set the current minute. Hold to scroll quickly.
  4. The clock is now set.

Using the Programmable Timer:

The 24-hour programmable timer allows you to set a specific time for the coffee maker to start brewing automatically.

  1. Ensure the current time is set correctly.
  2. Prepare the coffee maker with water and ground coffee as described in the 'Brewing Coffee' section.
  3. Press the PROG button. The display will show 'PROG' and flash.
  4. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired start time for brewing.
  5. Press the PROG button again to confirm the programmed time. The 'PROG' indicator light will remain illuminated.
  6. The coffee maker will now start brewing automatically at the set programmed time.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

  1. Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the filter basket and permanent filter. Discard used coffee grounds.
  3. Wash the carafe, carafe lid, filter basket, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  4. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  5. Do not immerse the coffee maker unit in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal):

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, or more often if you have hard water.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water.
  2. Place the empty filter basket (without coffee or filter) and the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle.
  4. Allow half of the solution to brew through, then press the ON/OFF button to turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Press the ON/OFF button again to complete the brewing cycle.
  6. Discard the vinegar solution from the carafe.
  7. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.

6. Troubleshooting
