2. Setup Instructions
- Inspect the Power Pedestal: Before connecting the Power Watchdog, visually inspect the RV park's power pedestal for any visible damage or loose connections.
- Plug in the Power Watchdog: Connect the male end of the Power Watchdog (the end with the three prongs) directly into the 30 Amp outlet on the RV park's power pedestal. Ensure a secure connection.
- Observe LED Diagnostics: The Power Watchdog will perform a diagnostic check. Observe the LED indicators on the unit for any fault alerts. A solid blue light indicates a safe connection. If a fault is detected, the LED will turn red and the unit will not supply power to your RV.
- Connect Your RV: Once the Power Watchdog indicates a safe power condition (blue LED), connect your RV's 30 Amp power cord to the female receptacle on the Power Watchdog.
- Power-On Delay: After connecting, there will be a built-in 90-second delay before power is supplied to your RV. This delay protects your RV's air conditioning unit and other sensitive electronics from rapid power cycling.
- Download and Connect to App: Download the Power Watchdog mobile application from your device's app store. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone and follow the in-app instructions to connect to your Power Watchdog unit for real-time monitoring.
Note: For optimal security, utilize the integrated security lock feature to secure the unit to the power pedestal, preventing theft.
3. Operating Instructions
Real-Time Monitoring via Mobile App:
The Power Watchdog app provides comprehensive real-time data about your RV's electrical consumption. Once connected via Bluetooth, you can monitor the following:
- Voltage (V): Displays the incoming voltage from the power pedestal.
- Amperage (A): Shows the current draw of your RV's appliances.
- Wattage (W): Indicates the instantaneous power consumption.
- Kilowatt-Hour (KWH) Usage: Tracks accumulated energy consumption over time.
The app also allows for customizable thresholds for voltage protection and sends wireless fault alerts directly to your smartphone if an issue is detected.
LED Park Power Diagnostics:
The Power Watchdog unit features LED indicators that provide immediate visual feedback on the power conditions:
- Blue LED: Indicates a safe and correct power connection.
- Red LED: Indicates a detected fault condition. The unit will automatically shut off power to protect your RV.

5. Troubleshooting

- No Power to RV: If the unit has shut off power, it will automatically re-check the power conditions after 90 seconds. If the conditions stabilize and are safe, power will be restored.
- Low or High Voltage Alerts: The unit will automatically shut off power if voltage drops below 104V or rises above 132V. Check the power pedestal or consider moving to a different site if issues persist.
