4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning the Trackball

Over time, dust and debris may accumulate around the trackball, affecting its smooth operation. To clean:

  1. Gently push the trackball out from the bottom of the mouse using a pen or a similar blunt object.
  2. Wipe the trackball with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  3. Clean the inside cavity of the mouse, paying attention to the three small support points where the trackball rests. Use a cotton swab or a soft brush to remove any accumulated grime.
  4. Reinsert the trackball into the mouse until it clicks securely into place.

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your trackball mouse.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Cursor Movement Issues

  • Erratic or Stuttering Cursor: This is often caused by debris inside the trackball cavity. Refer to Section 4.1 for cleaning instructions.
  • No Cursor Movement:
    • Ensure the mouse is powered on.
    • Check battery level and charge if necessary.
    • Verify the USB Unifying Receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port, or that Bluetooth is enabled and the mouse is paired correctly.
    • Try switching to a different Easy-Switch channel (1 or 2) to ensure it's connected to the correct device.

5.2. Connectivity Problems

  • Unifying Receiver Not Detected: Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port. If issues persist, re-pair the device using Logitech Options software.
  • Bluetooth Pairing Failure: Ensure no other Bluetooth devices are interfering. Try restarting your computer's Bluetooth and the mouse.

5.3. Buttons Not Responding

  • Ensure Logitech Options software is up-to-date if you have customized button functions.
  • Reset the mouse by turning it off and on.
