Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Unscrew the bottom cap of the handle by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Insert two (2) Standard C batteries into the handle, ensuring correct polarity (positive (+) end towards the top of the handle).
- Screw the bottom cap back on by turning it clockwise until secure.
2. Attaching the Head
- Select either the otoscope head or the ophthalmoscope head.
- Align the head with the top of the handle.
- Gently push the head onto the handle and twist clockwise until it locks securely into place using the bayonet locking system.
Operating Instructions
Otoscope Operation
The otoscope is used for examining the ear canal and eardrum.
- Power On/Off: Lightly twist the black ring on the handle clockwise to turn the light on, and counter-clockwise to turn it off.
- Attaching Speculum: Select an appropriate size reusable ear speculum and attach it to the tip of the otoscope head.
- Magnification: The otoscope features 3x magnification for clear visualization.
- Examination: Gently insert the speculum into the ear canal. Adjust your viewing angle to observe the ear canal and tympanic membrane.

Ophthalmoscope Operation
The ophthalmoscope is used for examining the internal structures of the eye.
- Power On/Off: Similar to the otoscope, twist the black ring on the handle clockwise to turn the light on, and counter-clockwise to turn it off.
- Lens Correction Knob: Use the premium lens correction knob to adjust the focus for clear viewing of the retina and other internal eye structures.
- Light Mode Indicator: Observe the light mode indicator for optimal illumination settings.
- Examination: Position the ophthalmoscope close to your eye and look through the viewing aperture. Direct the light into the patient's pupil to examine the fundus.

Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always clean the instrument heads and reusable speculums after each use.
- Wipe the external surfaces of the otoscope and ophthalmoscope heads with a soft cloth dampened with a mild disinfectant solution. Avoid excessive moisture.
- Reusable ear speculums can be cleaned with soap and water or disinfected according to standard medical practices. Ensure they are completely dry before storage.
- Do not immerse the instrument handle or heads in liquid.
Bulb Replacement
If the light dims or fails, the LED bulb may need replacement.
- Ensure the instrument is turned off and disconnected from the handle.
- Carefully pull the head off the handle.
- Locate the small LED bulb underneath the head.
- Using small pliers or tweezers, gently pull the old bulb out.
- Insert a new replacement LED bulb (two are included in your set) firmly into the socket.
- Reattach the head to the handle.
Storage
Store the Zyrev 2-in-1 set in its provided carry case when not in use to protect it from dust, damage, and moisture. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
