Operating Instructions
The Crock-Pot SCR300-SS features a manual control knob with three settings: LOW, HIGH, and WARM.
- LOW Setting: Ideal for slow cooking over a longer period. This setting typically cooks food for 6-8 hours.
- HIGH Setting: For faster cooking. This setting typically cooks food for 3-4 hours. When cooking on HIGH, liquids will boil faster than on LOW.
- WARM Setting: Use this setting only to keep cooked food at a serving temperature. Do not use the WARM setting to cook food. Always ensure food is fully cooked before using the WARM setting.
General Cooking Guidelines:
- Always fill the stoneware pot at least half full, but no more than three-quarters full, to ensure optimal cooking results.
- Keep the lid on during cooking to retain heat and moisture. Removing the lid frequently can extend cooking times.
- Adjust cooking times based on your recipe and desired doneness.
- After cooking, turn the control knob to the OFF position and unplug the unit.
Care and Cleaning
Proper care and cleaning will ensure the longevity of your slow cooker.
- Always turn the slow cooker OFF and unplug it from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Allow the unit to cool completely.
- The stoneware insert and glass lid are dishwasher-safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that may scratch surfaces.
- The heating base should be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
- For stubborn food residue on the stoneware, fill it with warm, soapy water and let it soak for a few hours before cleaning.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on any part of the slow cooker.
