Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before operating the oven.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or any part of the oven in water or other liquids.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause hazards or injury.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'OFF', then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
  • Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
  • A fire may occur if the oven is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
  • Do not place any materials other than oven-safe accessories in the oven when not in use.
  • Do not place paper, cardboard, plastic, or similar products in the oven.
  • Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.
  • Always wear protective, insulated oven mitts when inserting or removing items from the hot oven.

Setup

Unpacking and Placement:

  1. Carefully remove the oven and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Remove any packing materials, stickers, or labels from the oven.
  3. Place the oven on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the oven (at least 10-15 cm clearance on all sides and top).
  4. Do not place the oven near flammable materials or under cabinets.

Before First Use:

  1. Wash the wire rack, baking tray, and grill rack in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  2. Wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth.
  3. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. To eliminate any manufacturing odors, operate the oven empty for approximately 15 minutes at 200°C (400°F) using the 'Upper and Lower Heating' mode. A slight odor and smoke may be present; this is normal and will dissipate.

Operating Instructions

The Emjoi Electric Oven features three control knobs:

  • Temperature Knob (Top): Used to set the desired cooking temperature from 100°C to 250°C.
  • Function Selector Knob (Middle): Used to select the cooking mode.
  • Timer Knob (Bottom): Used to set the cooking time up to 60 minutes.

Cooking Modes:

Turn the Function Selector Knob to choose from the following modes:

  • OFF: Oven is off.
  • Upper Heating: Activates the top heating elements, ideal for browning or crisping the top of dishes.
  • Lower Heating: Activates the bottom heating elements, suitable for baking bases or gentle cooking.
  • Upper & Lower Heating: Activates both top and bottom heating elements for conventional baking and roasting.
  • Convection (Fan): Activates the fan along with heating elements (usually upper and lower) for even heat distribution, faster cooking, and crispier results.
  • Grill (Rotisserie): Activates the grill heating element and the rotisserie function for roasting poultry or large cuts of meat.

General Operation Steps:

  1. Place food on the baking tray or wire rack. Insert the tray/rack into the desired position inside the oven.
  2. Close the oven door securely.
  3. Turn the Temperature Knob to the desired temperature setting.
  4. Turn the Function Selector Knob to the desired cooking mode (e.g., Upper & Lower Heating, Convection, Grill).
  5. Turn the Timer Knob to the desired cooking time. The oven will start heating, and the indicator light will illuminate.
  6. When the set time elapses, a bell will ring, and the oven will automatically turn off.
  7. To stop cooking before the timer finishes, turn the Timer Knob to the 'OFF' position.
  8. Carefully remove cooked food using oven mitts.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your oven.

Cleaning Instructions:

  1. Always unplug the oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wash the wire rack, baking tray, and grill rack in warm, soapy water. For stubborn stains, soak them before cleaning.
  3. Wipe the interior walls, bottom, and glass door with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can damage the surfaces.
  4. For the exterior, wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  5. Do not immerse the oven body, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
  6. Ensure all parts are completely dry before plugging the oven back in and using it.
