2. Safety Information

WARNING: Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, injury, or death. Read the installation, operating, and maintenance instructions thoroughly before installing or servicing this equipment.

Proposition 65 Warning: This product can expose you to chemicals including carbon monoxide, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

  • Always ensure proper ventilation.
  • Maintain required clearances to combustible materials as specified in the full installation manual.
  • Never operate the stove with the hopper lid open or if the firebox door is not securely latched.
  • Crucial Maintenance: To prevent potential fire hazards, it is imperative to clean the stove, especially the firebox and pellet box, on a daily basis during active use. Regular and thorough cleaning is essential for safe operation.
  • Do not store pellets or other combustible materials near the stove.
  • Install carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
  • Keep children and pets away from the hot surfaces of the stove.

3. Setup and Installation

While the stove itself requires no assembly, proper installation of the exhaust system and fresh air supply is critical for safe and efficient operation. It is highly recommended to have a qualified professional install your pellet stove to ensure compliance with local codes and safety standards.

  • Placement: Position the stove on a non-combustible surface, maintaining adequate clearance from walls and other combustible materials. Refer to the detailed installation manual for specific clearance requirements.
  • Ventilation: Connect the stove to a proper direct vent exhaust system. The stove features a 3-inch exhaust port. A fresh air supply kit is included and must be installed according to instructions to ensure proper combustion and prevent negative pressure issues.
  • Electrical Connection: Plug the stove into a grounded electrical outlet.
  • Wi-Fi Setup: Download the "Smart stove app" from your device's app store (available on iOS and Android platforms). Follow the in-app instructions to connect your stove to your home Wi-Fi network for remote control and monitoring.

4.2 Initial Startup and Operation

  1. Ensure the stove is properly installed and connected to power.
  2. Fill the hopper with quality wood pellets.
  3. Close the hopper lid and securely latch the firebox door.
  4. Use the digital control panel or remote to power on the stove.
  5. Set your desired temperature. The stove's thermostat will regulate the heat output. To view the stove's current room temperature reading, press the "Thumbs Up" button on the control panel; the temperature will display as "## (R)".
  6. Operating Modes (EC01/EC02): The stove offers different operating modes.
    • EC01 Mode: The stove will operate until the set temperature is reached, then it will cycle off. It will restart when the room temperature drops below the set point.
    • EC02 Mode: The stove will reduce the pellet feed rate and blower speed once the set temperature is reached, but it will continue to operate at a lower output rather than cycling off completely. This mode may not be suitable for very small spaces as it can lead to overheating.
Consult your full manual for instructions on how to select or disable these modes.
  7. Burn Rate (P1, P2, P3, etc.): The stove allows adjustment of the pellet burn rate (e.g., P1 for highest, P3 for medium). Higher burn rates produce more heat but consume more pellets.

4.3 Temperature Sensor Placement

For accurate temperature readings and proper stove cycling, ensure the temperature sensor diode is uncoiled and extended away from the stove. If it is tied or coiled near the stove, it may read the stove's internal temperature rather than the room temperature, leading to incorrect operation (e.g., stove not relighting when the room cools).

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the safe, efficient, and long-lasting operation of your pellet stove. The No.215 Mini Pellet Stove features easy-access service areas to simplify this process.

  • Daily Cleaning: During active use, clean the firebox and pellet box daily to prevent ash buildup and potential fire hazards. This includes removing ash from the cast iron firepot.
  • Weekly Cleaning: Perform a more thorough cleaning at least once a week, including vacuuming ash from all accessible areas, cleaning the glass, and checking for any obstructions in the air intake or exhaust.
  • Ash Removal: The stove is equipped with an ash drawer for convenient ash removal. Empty the ash drawer regularly.
  • Component Inspection: Periodically inspect all components, including the auger, igniter, and blowers, for wear or damage.

6. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your pellet stove. For more complex problems, refer to the complete manual or contact customer support.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Stove not igniting or shutting down unexpectedly. No pellets in hopper, clogged auger, igniter malfunction, or improper air flow.Check pellet level. Clear any obstructions in the auger. Ensure all air intakes and exhaust are clear. Verify igniter operation.
Stove not relighting after reaching desired temperature.Temperature sensor is coiled or too close to the stove, providing an inaccurate room temperature reading.Ensure the temperature sensor diode is uncoiled and extended away from the stove to accurately measure room temperature. The stove should relight when the room temperature drops approximately 5 degrees below the set point.
Error Code EC02 displayed.Stove is operating in EC02 mode, which maintains a low burn rate rather than cycling off. This can lead to overheating in small spaces. If EC02 mode is not desired, consult the full manual for instructions on how to switch to EC01 mode or disable continuous operation if possible.
Excessive smoke or poor burn.Poor quality pellets, dirty stove/exhaust, or improper air settings.Use high-quality pellets. Clean the stove thoroughly, including the firepot, ash drawer, and exhaust system. Adjust air settings as per manual.
