4. Setup Guide
4.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the walkie-talkie is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Slide the battery cover latch (if present) or gently pry open the cover.
- Insert the Li-ion battery into the compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly with the radio's terminals.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it.

4.2. Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the battery. The T80 walkie-talkie uses a desktop charger.
- Connect the charger adapter to a power outlet and the USB charging cable to the desktop charger.
- Place the walkie-talkie into the desktop charger, ensuring the charging contacts on the radio align with those on the charger. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
- Alternatively, you can remove the battery and place it directly into the charging buckle on the desktop charger.
- A full charge typically takes several hours. The indicator light will change color or turn off when charging is complete.
4.3. Attaching Accessories (Belt Clip, Hand Strap)
Attach the belt clip to the back of the walkie-talkie for easy carrying. Thread the hand strap through the designated loop for added security.

5.1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
Rotate the Power Switch / Volume Adjust Knob (7) clockwise to power on the radio. Continue rotating to increase volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.
5.2. Channel Selection
Press the MENU button (10) to enter the menu. Use the Select Keys (5) to navigate to the channel setting. Press MENU again to confirm your selection. The T80 has 8 available channels.
5.3. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the PTT Button (2) and speak clearly into the Microphone (12). Release the PTT button to receive. Ensure you are on the same channel and privacy code as the other party.
5.4. VOX Function (Hands-Free)
The VOX function allows transmission without pressing the PTT button. To activate/deactivate VOX and adjust sensitivity:
- Press the MENU button (10) repeatedly until the VOX setting appears on the LCD Display (8).
- Use the Select Keys (5) to choose a sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or turn VOX off (OF).
- Press MENU to confirm.
5.5. LED Flashlight Operation
Press the Flashlight Key (3) to turn the integrated Flashlight (6) on or off.
5.6. Monitor Function
Long press the Monitor Key (4) to temporarily disable squelch and listen for weak signals on the current channel. Release to return to normal operation.
5.7. Keypad Lock
Long press the Keypad Lock/Unlock Key (11) to lock or unlock the keypad, preventing accidental button presses.
5.8. Call Tones
Short press the Call Tone Key (11) to send a selectable call tone to other radios on the same channel and privacy code.
5.9. Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)
To set privacy codes:
- Press the MENU button (10) repeatedly until the CTCSS or DCS setting appears.
- Use the Select Keys (5) to choose the desired code (01-38 for CTCSS, 01-60 for DCS).
- Press MENU to confirm. Both radios must be set to the same channel and privacy code to communicate.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Clean the radio's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the radio is dry before use or charging.
6.2. Battery Care
- Do not disassemble, crush, or puncture the battery.
- Avoid exposing the battery to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
- If storing the radio for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and remove it from the radio. Recharge every 3-6 months.
- Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
