5. Setup

5.1. Power Connection

  1. Ensure the Gem Box II is switched off.
  2. Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN jack on the pedal.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a suitable AC outlet.

5.2. Audio Connections

  1. Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack using a standard instrument cable.
  2. Connect the OUTPUT jack of the Gem Box II to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface using another instrument cable.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On/Off

To power on the unit, ensure the power adapter is connected, then press the power button (if available, or it powers on automatically upon connection). To power off, disconnect the power adapter.

6.2. Navigating Presets

Use the PLAY/RECORD and STOP/DELETE footswitches to scroll through the available factory and user presets. The LCD display will show the current patch number and name.

6.3. Editing Effects

  1. Select a patch you wish to edit.
  2. Use the MODE knob to select the effect module you want to adjust (e.g., Drive, Modulation, Delay).
  3. Use the VALUE knob to adjust the parameters within the selected effect module.
  4. Repeat for other effect modules as desired.

6.4. Saving Presets

  1. After editing a patch, press the SAVE button.
  2. Use the footswitches or VALUE knob to select a user patch location to save your edited sound.
  3. Press the SAVE button again to confirm.

6.5. Using the Tuner

Press and hold both footswitches simultaneously to activate the tuner. Play a single note on your guitar, and the LCD display will show the note and indicate if it is sharp, flat, or in tune. Press either footswitch to exit tuner mode.

6.6. Using the Drum Machine and Metronome

  1. Press the RHYTHM button to enter drum/metronome mode.
  2. Use the VALUE knob to select different drum patterns or metronome types.
  3. Use the TAP button to set the tempo.
  4. Press the RHYTHM button again to exit.

6.7. Using the Looper

  1. Press the LOOP button to enter looper mode.
  2. Press the PLAY/RECORD footswitch once to start recording.
  3. Press the PLAY/RECORD footswitch again to stop recording and start playback.
  4. Press the PLAY/RECORD footswitch a third time to overdub.
  5. Press the STOP/DELETE footswitch once to stop playback.
  6. Press and hold the STOP/DELETE footswitch to delete the recorded loop.
  7. Press the LOOP button again to exit looper mode.

6.8. Expression Pedal Functions

Press the PEDAL button to assign the expression pedal. You can typically assign it to control volume, wah, or other effect parameters. Refer to the on-screen prompts or specific menu options for detailed assignment procedures.
