Setup
1. Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the NT-505 from its packaging. Place the unit on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for heat dissipation.
2. Connecting Power
Connect the supplied power cord to the AC IN terminal on the rear panel of the NT-505, then plug the other end into a suitable wall outlet.
3. Audio Connections
The NT-505 offers various input and output options:
- Analogue Outputs: Use balanced XLR cables for connection to compatible amplifiers or conventional unbalanced RCA cables.
- Digital Inputs: Connect digital audio sources using Coaxial or Optical cables to the respective input terminals on the rear or front panel.
- USB Audio Input: Connect your Windows PC or Mac to the USB audio port on the rear panel for high-resolution audio playback.
- Front USB Port: Insert a USB flash drive into the front USB port for direct playback of Hi-Res audio files.
- Headphone Output: Connect headphones to the 1/4’’ (6.3mm) stereo TRS jack on the front panel.
4. Network Connection
For network streaming features (TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon Ready), connect an Ethernet cable from your network router to the LAN port on the rear panel of the NT-505.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Press the POWER switch on the front panel to turn the unit on or off. The display will illuminate upon power-on.
2. Source Selection
Rotate the SOURCE knob on the front panel or use the remote control to select the desired input source (e.g., USB, Coaxial, Optical, Network).
3. Volume Control
Adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob on the front panel or the volume buttons on the remote control. The current volume level will be shown on the display.
4. Network Streaming
Once connected to your network, use the TEAC HR Streamer app (available for iOS/Android devices) to control network playback, access music services like TIDAL and Qobuz, and stream from your NAS/PC.
5. USB Playback
For USB audio from a computer, ensure the appropriate drivers are installed (if required for Windows). For USB flash drive playback, navigate through your music files using the unit's controls or remote.
6. Digital Filters and Up-conversion
The NT-505 offers various digital filters for PCM and DSD signals. These can be accessed and configured through the unit's menu system to tailor the sound to your preference. The unit also supports up-conversion of audio signals to higher resolutions.
Maintenance
