3. Setup and Assembly

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all accessories from the box and inspect them for any damage.
  2. Set Up Tripod: Extend the three legs of the aluminum tripod until they are fully stable. Ensure the tripod is placed on a flat, secure surface.
  3. Attach Telescope to Tripod: Insert the telescope's mounting system, located in the middle of its bottom part, into the tripod. Tighten the fixing screw between the telescope and the tripod to secure it. To adjust the observation angle, first loosen this fixing screw, set the desired angle, and then re-tighten.
  4. Install Eyepiece: Place the desired eyepiece (H20mm or H6mm) into the angle viewer (diagonal) and tighten it with the screw to secure it in place.
  5. Install Barlow Lens (Optional): If using the 3X Barlow lens, install it into the angle viewer first, then insert the eyepiece into the Barlow lens.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Aiming the Telescope: Point the telescope towards your desired object. For terrestrial observation, it is recommended to observe objects at a distance greater than 10 meters.
  2. Focusing: Adjust the focus wheel until you achieve a clear image. If the image appears very blurry, regulate the focal distance first using the focus wheel.
  3. Changing Magnification: The telescope comes with two eyepieces: H20mm (18X magnification) for finding targets and H6mm (60X magnification) for detailed observation. The 3X Barlow lens can be used to triple the magnification of any eyepiece, allowing for a maximum magnification of 180X. Remember that magnification is not solely dependent on the eyepiece but also on the aperture and focal length combination.

Important Safety Note:

  • DO NOT look directly at the sun through the telescope, even for an instant, as this can cause severe and permanent eye damage.
  • Respect privacy; do not use the telescope to observe private activities of others.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surfaces. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of optical cleaning fluid on the cloth, not directly on the lens.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the telescope in a dry, dust-free environment. Keep lens caps on to protect the optical surfaces.
  • Handling: Always handle the telescope and its components with care to avoid accidental drops or impacts.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Blurry Image: If the image appears very blurry, first adjust the focal distance using the focus wheel. Ensure the correct eyepiece is securely installed.
  • No Image Visible: Verify that the lens caps are removed from both the objective lens and the eyepiece. Ensure the telescope is correctly aimed at the target.
  • Unstable View: Ensure the tripod legs are fully extended and stable on a flat surface. Tighten all connection screws, especially the one securing the telescope to the tripod.
