Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up and operating your CHUNGHOP E885 Universal IR Learning Remote Control. This 8-in-1 multifunctional controller is designed to consolidate control of various household appliances such as Smart TVs, SAT receivers, DVD players, AUX devices, CD players, VCRs, and DVRs.
The E885 remote features both a built-in code base and a learning function, allowing for flexible programming to suit your specific devices. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure proper setup and optimal performance.
Getting Started
Battery Installation
The CHUNGHOP E885 remote requires 2 x AA batteries (not included).
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Programming Your Remote Control
The E885 remote offers multiple methods to program it for your devices. Choose the method that best suits your needs.
A. Manually Inputting the Corresponding Code
This method uses a pre-programmed code from the remote's built-in database. You will need to refer to a code list (typically provided with the product or available online from the manufacturer).
- Turn on the household appliance you wish to control (e.g., TV, STB, DVD).
- Locate the four-digit code for your appliance's brand in the provided code list.
- Press the corresponding device category key on the remote (e.g., "TV", "SAT", "DVD"). The indicator light will flash once.
- Press and hold the "SETUP" (or "SET") key until the indicator light illuminates and remains steady.
- Input the four-digit code successively. The indicator light will flash once for each digit entered. After the fourth digit, the indicator light will turn off.
- Test the remote's functions. If all keys operate correctly, the setup is successful. If some functions do not work, repeat steps 4-5 with another code for the same brand from the code list.

B. Manually Searching for the Corresponding Code
This method allows the remote to search for the correct code by sending signals until your device responds.
- Turn on the household appliance you wish to control (e.g., TV, STB, DVD).
- Press the device category key (e.g., "TV", "SAT", "DVD"). The indicator light will flash once.
- Press and hold the "SETUP" (or "SET") key until the indicator light illuminates and remains steady.
- Point the remote control towards the infrared reception window of your equipment. Press the "CH+" (or "P+") key at intervals of less than 1.5 seconds. If the interval is longer, the remote may enter automatic searching mode. Continue pressing until the channel on your equipment changes.
- Immediately release the "CH+" (or "P+") key once the channel changes, then press the "OK" key to exit the searching mode.
Note: If your equipment does not have a "CH+" (P+) function, you may use the "PLAY" key or the "POWER" key instead. When the equipment's status changes, press "OK" to exit.
- Check if all function keys operate normally. If successful, the setting is complete. If not, repeat steps 3-4.
C. Full-Automatic Searching for Code
This method allows the remote to automatically scan through codes until it finds a match for your device.
Press "Channel+" (or "CH+/P+"). The indicator light will flash rapidly, signifying that the remote is in automatic search mode and transmitting a set of codes every second.
- When your device responds (e.g., turns off, changes channel), quickly press the "OK" key to exit the search status.
D. Learning Function (Copying from Original Remote)
The E885 can learn functions directly from your original, working IR remote control. This is useful for functions not covered by the built-in code base or for specific buttons.
- Ensure your original remote control is working and has fresh batteries.
- Place the E885 remote and your original remote on a flat surface, facing each other, with their infrared emitters approximately 1-3 inches apart.
- On the E885, press and hold the desired device category key (e.g., "TV", "SAT", "DVD") for about 3 seconds until the indicator light illuminates and remains steady.
- Press the button on your original remote that you want the E885 to learn. The indicator light on the E885 will flash once to confirm it received the signal.
- Immediately press the corresponding button on the E885 where you want to store this function. The indicator light on the E885 will flash and then return to a steady light, indicating successful learning.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all other buttons you wish to program.
- Once all desired buttons are learned, press the "SETUP" (or "SET") key on the E885 to exit learning mode. The indicator light will turn off.
- Test the learned functions on your device.

Searching for the Current Code
After successfully programming your remote, you can retrieve the four-digit code that controls your household appliance.
- Press the category key of the equipment you want to inquire about (e.g., "TV", "SAT", "DVD"). The indicator light will flash once.
- Press and hold the "SETUP" (or "SET") key until the indicator light illuminates and remains steady.
- Press the "SETUP" (or "SET") key once again. After flashing once, the indicator light will remain steady.
- Press number keys 0-9 successively. When the indicator light flashes, the number you just pressed is the first digit of the code.
- Repeat step 4 to find the second, third, and fourth digits of the code. After finding the fourth digit, the indicator light will turn off.
Operating Your Remote Control
Once programmed, the CHUNGHOP E885 functions like your original remote control. Simply select the appropriate device mode (e.g., TV, DVD) using the dedicated device keys at the top of the remote, then use the corresponding buttons for power, volume, channel, playback, and other functions.

Maintenance
- Keep the remote control dry. Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids.
- Clean the remote with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid dropping the remote or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- If the remote will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure there is no obstruction between the remote and the device's infrared receiver.
- Verify that the remote is programmed to the correct device mode (e.g., "TV" button pressed for TV).
- Some functions not working after programming:
- If using manual code input, try another code from the code list for your device's brand.
- If using manual or automatic search, ensure you pressed "OK" immediately when the device responded. Repeat the search process.
- Consider using the learning function (Method D) to copy specific problematic buttons from your original remote.
- Learning function not working:
- Ensure your original remote is an IR (infrared) remote and is functioning correctly.
- Check the distance between the two remotes during learning; typically 1-3 inches is ideal.
- Ensure the original remote's batteries are strong enough to send a clear signal.
