Setup
1. Charging the Batteries
Before initial use, fully charge both rechargeable batteries using the provided USB charging cable. Insert the batteries into the doorbell unit once charged.
2. App Installation and Account Creation
- Scan the QR code on the packaging or search for the companion app (e.g., 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart') in your device's app store.
- Download and install the app.
- Open the app and create a new account, following the on-screen instructions.
3. Device Pairing
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Power on the doorbell. It will enter pairing mode (indicated by a flashing LED).
- In the app, tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon. Select 'Video Doorbell' or 'Smart Camera'.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect the doorbell to your Wi-Fi network. This usually involves scanning a QR code generated by the app with the doorbell's camera.
4. Mounting the Doorbell
- Choose a suitable location near your front door, ensuring a clear view and good Wi-Fi signal.
- Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark drill holes on the wall.
- Drill the holes and insert the wall anchors.
- Secure the mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws.
- Slide the doorbell unit onto the mounting bracket until it clicks into place.
Operating Instructions
Live View and Two-Way Communication
Open the app to access the live video feed from your doorbell. Tap the microphone icon to speak to visitors and the speaker icon to hear them. This enables real-time two-way communication.
Motion Detection (PIR)
The doorbell features Passive Infrared (PIR) motion detection. When motion is detected within the 166° wide-angle view, the doorbell will automatically record a video clip and send a notification to your smartphone. Sensitivity settings can be adjusted in the app.
Night Vision
The doorbell automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions, providing clear video footage even in complete darkness.
Video Recording and Playback
All motion-triggered events and manual recordings are saved to the pre-installed 16GB MicroSD card. You can view recorded videos directly from the app's playback section. The doorbell supports loop recording, overwriting the oldest files when the card is full.
Doorbell Ring Notification
When a visitor presses the doorbell button, you will receive an instant notification on your smartphone, allowing you to answer from anywhere.
