Operation

The CAMLOCKbox security box functions as a passive protective enclosure. Once your trail camera is correctly installed and the box is securely mounted, operate your trail camera according to its own manufacturer's instructions. The security box provides physical protection and is designed not to interfere with the camera's functionality, including solar panel hookup or sound recording, thanks to its precisely integrated ports and cutouts.

Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the exterior of the security box with a damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the powder-coat finish.
  • Inspect for Damage: Regularly check the box for any signs of physical damage, such as dents, scratches, or rust. Address any issues promptly to maintain its protective integrity.
  • Check Mounting: Ensure that the mounting hardware (lag bolts, belts, or cable) remains secure and tight. Re-tighten if necessary to prevent the box from becoming loose.
  • Lubricate Locks: If using a padlock, apply a small amount of lubricant to the lock mechanism periodically to prevent seizing, especially in harsh weather conditions.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera Does Not Fit: Ensure you have the correct CAMLOCKbox model (31000) for your specific Spartan/GoCam trail camera. Verify that no internal obstructions or misaligned camera components are preventing the camera from sliding in completely.
  • Box Not Closing Properly: Check for any foreign objects or misaligned camera parts that might be preventing the lid from closing flush. Ensure the camera is fully seated within the box.
  • Difficulty Locking: Inspect the padlock or cable lock for damage, rust, or debris. Ensure the locking mechanism aligns correctly with the box's locking hole. Clean and lubricate the lock if necessary.
  • Box Feels Loose After Mounting: Re-check all mounting points. Tighten lag bolts, belts, or cable locks as needed. Ensure the mounting surface (tree/post) is stable and capable of supporting the box.
