2. Installing the Wireless Outdoor Sensor
The wireless outdoor sensor requires 2 x AAA batteries (not included).
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert 2 AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment securely to ensure weather resistance.
- Place the outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location away from direct sunlight and precipitation, ensuring it is within 30 meters (100 feet) of the main unit in an open area. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electrical appliances that may interfere with the wireless signal.

3. Initial Synchronization
Once both the main unit and the outdoor sensor are powered, they will automatically attempt to synchronize. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings should appear on the main unit's display within a few minutes. If readings do not appear, try the following:
- Ensure both units are within range and free from interference.
- Press the "CH" button on the main unit to cycle through channels (if multiple sensors are used, though this model typically uses one).
- Remove and reinsert batteries from both units to force a re-synchronization.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement
Replace batteries in both the main unit and the outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries at once with new ones of the same type.
Cleaning
Wipe the weather station and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing. Ensure no moisture enters the battery compartments or ports.
Sensor Placement
Periodically check the outdoor sensor's placement to ensure it remains protected from direct sunlight and heavy rain, which can affect temperature readings and sensor longevity. Ensure it has clear line of sight to the main unit for optimal signal transmission.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display on main unit | No power; incorrect battery installation; faulty USB connection. | Check batteries for correct polarity and charge. Ensure USB cable is securely connected to a working 5V 1A power source. |
| Outdoor readings not displayed or inaccurate | Sensor out of range; low sensor batteries; interference; sensor not synchronized. | Move sensor closer to main unit. Replace sensor batteries. Avoid placing near large metal objects or electronics. Re-synchronize by removing/reinserting batteries from both units. |
| Incorrect time/date | Time/date not set correctly. | Follow "Setting Time and Date" instructions in the Operating section. |
| Weather forecast seems inaccurate | Weather forecasts are predictions based on barometric pressure changes and may not always be 100% accurate for localized conditions. | This is normal. The forecast is an estimation. Ensure the unit has been operating for at least 24 hours to establish a baseline for pressure trends. |
