When fully charged, the battery provides approximately 12 hours of usage. Over time, with heavy use, battery life may reduce to around 6+ hours.
7. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ModMic Wireless, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the microphone and magnetic clasps with a soft, dry cloth. For the adhesive surfaces, use the provided alcohol prep pad or a similar mild cleaner before applying new adhesives.
- Storage: When not in use, store the ModMic in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Cable Care: Handle the charging cable gently. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling to prevent damage.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ModMic Wireless, consider the following:
- Microphone Not Turning On: Ensure the device is fully charged. If it has been off and charging for a long time, it may require multiple presses of the power button to activate.
- No Sound/Poor Sound Quality: Check that the USB receiver is securely plugged into a compatible port. Verify that the microphone is paired and not muted. Ensure the correct microphone input device is selected in your operating system's sound settings. If using Windows, check advanced sound settings as updates can sometimes revert quality settings.
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure the microphone and receiver are within range. Avoid obstructions that might interfere with the wireless signal.
- Magnetic Clasp Not Holding: Ensure the headphone surface is clean and dry before applying the adhesive. Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to cure before attaching the microphone.
