1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the CREWORKS 15x15 Inch 5-in-1 Heat Press Machine. This versatile machine is designed for transferring designs onto various items such as T-shirts, bags, mouse pads, mugs, hats, plates, and shoes. This manual provides essential information for safe operation, setup, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your heat press.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Always operate the heat press on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep hands and body clear of the heating platen during operation to prevent burns. The aluminum platen is coated with temperature-resistant nylon fiberglass composite, but it still gets very hot.
  • The swing-away design allows the heating element to be moved safely aside, reducing the risk of accidental contact. Utilize this feature.
  • Ensure proper ventilation in your workspace.
  • Do not leave the machine unattended while powered on or in operation.
  • Keep children and pets away from the machine.
  • Unplug the machine from the power outlet when not in use or before cleaning and maintenance.
  • Do not attempt to modify or repair the machine yourself. Contact qualified service personnel for assistance.

4. Product Overview

  • Pressure Handle: Used to lower and raise the heating platen and apply pressure.
  • Height Regulator: Adjusts the distance between the heating platen and the lower platen for different material thicknesses.
  • Time & Temperature Control Box: Digital display for setting and monitoring temperature and time.
  • Power Switch: Turns the machine on/off.
  • Spring-Loaded Bolts: Provide even pressure distribution across the platen.
  • Heat Pad: The lower silicone pad that supports the item being pressed.
  • Slide Rails: Allow the lower platen to slide out for easier placement of items and safer operation.

The easy adjustment knob allows you to quickly raise or lower the heat pad up to 15 inches to accommodate larger or thicker objects.

5. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the main heat press unit on a sturdy, level, and heat-resistant workbench or table. Ensure there is enough space around the machine for the swing-away function.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a grounded 110V power outlet.
  4. Attachment Installation (if applicable): For mug, cap, or plate pressing, attach the corresponding heating element following the instructions provided with each attachment. Ensure secure connection.

6. Operating Instructions

This section covers general operation and specific instructions for different attachments.

6.1. General Operation

  1. Power On: Flip the main power switch to the 'ON' position. The control box will light up.
  2. Set Temperature: Press the 'SET' button on the control box. Use the up/down arrows to adjust the desired temperature. Press 'SET' again to confirm.
  3. Set Time: Press the 'SET' button twice. Use the up/down arrows to adjust the desired time in seconds. Press 'SET' again to confirm.
  4. Preheat: Allow the machine to preheat until it reaches the set temperature. The 'OUT' indicator light will turn off when the target temperature is reached.
  5. Adjust Pressure: Use the height regulator knob to adjust the pressure. Turn clockwise for more pressure, counter-clockwise for less. Test with a scrap material to ensure appropriate pressure.

6.2. T-Shirt/Flat Item Pressing

  1. Ensure the flat platen is installed.
  2. Preheat the machine to the recommended temperature for your transfer material (e.g., 320-360°F).
  3. Slide out the lower platen. Place the T-shirt or flat item onto the silicone pad, ensuring it is smooth and free of wrinkles.
  4. Place your transfer design onto the item. Cover with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper if required by your transfer material.
  5. Swing the heating platen over the item and lower the pressure handle to engage the press.
  6. The timer will automatically start. Once the time elapses (e.g., 30 seconds), lift the pressure handle and swing the heating platen away.
  7. Carefully remove the transfer paper (hot or cold peel, as per transfer instructions) and then the item.

6.3. Mug, Cap, and Plate Pressing

To use the mug, cap, or plate attachments, first replace the flat platen with the appropriate attachment. Ensure it is securely fastened. Follow the general operating steps for setting temperature and time, then:

  • Mug Press: Place the transfer paper around the mug. Insert the mug into the mug press attachment and close the clamp. Recommended temperature: 330-380°F for 30 seconds.
  • Cap Press: Place the transfer paper onto the cap. Position the cap on the cap press attachment. Lower the heating element onto the cap. Recommended temperature: 330-350°F for 40 seconds.
  • Plate Press: Place the transfer paper onto the plate. Position the plate on the plate press attachment. Lower the heating element onto the plate. Recommended temperature: 330-380°F for 30 seconds.

Note: Specific temperature and time settings may vary depending on the transfer paper, ink, and material used. Always refer to the recommendations of your transfer material supplier.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Ensure the machine is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning. Wipe down the heating platen and other surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Silicone Pad Care: Regularly inspect the silicone pad for wear or damage. Replace if necessary to ensure even pressure.
  • Storage: Store the machine in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.
