Grizzly Industrial G0638HEP 10 HP 3-Phase Dual-Filtration HEPA Cyclone Dust Collector

Model: G0638HEP | Brand: Grizzly Industrial

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your Grizzly Industrial G0638HEP 10 HP 3-Phase Dual-Filtration HEPA Cyclone Dust Collector. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation or operation to ensure proper usage and to prevent injury or damage to the equipment.

The G0638HEP is designed for industrial applications, offering powerful dust collection with dual-filtration, including HEPA filters, to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Its cyclone design efficiently separates heavy debris from fine dust particles, extending filter life and maximizing performance.

2. Safety Instructions

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury, fire, or electric shock.

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, and a dust mask, when operating or servicing the dust collector.
  • Ensure the dust collector is properly grounded and connected to a 3-phase, 220V power supply by a qualified electrician. Incorrect wiring can cause severe damage or injury.
  • Do not operate the dust collector with guards removed or if any parts are damaged.
  • Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from all moving parts.
  • Never collect flammable or explosive materials, hot ashes, or liquids. This can cause fire or explosion.
  • Regularly inspect all electrical cords and connections for damage. Replace damaged cords immediately.
  • Disconnect power before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or filter changes.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area.
  • Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the operating area.

Position the dust collector on a level, stable surface capable of supporting its weight (Product Dimensions: 96.25 x 52.5 x 139.5 inches). Ensure sufficient clearance around the unit for maintenance and airflow. The unit is designed for indoor use only.

3.4 Electrical Connection

This unit requires a 3-phase, 220V hardwire connection. All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local and national electrical codes. Ensure the power supply matches the motor's requirements (10 HP, 220V, 3-Phase).

3.5 Ducting Connection

Connect appropriate ducting from your woodworking machinery to the dust collector's inlet port. Ensure all connections are sealed to prevent air leaks and maximize suction efficiency.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Pre-Operation Checklist

  • Verify all dust collection bins are securely attached and empty.
  • Ensure all ducting connections are tight and free of obstructions.
  • Confirm power supply is connected and the emergency stop button is disengaged.
  • Check that all safety guards are in place.

4.2 Starting the Dust Collector

Press the "ON" button on the control panel. The motor will start, and the system will begin to generate suction. Allow a few seconds for the motor to reach full speed before operating connected machinery.

4.3 During Operation

Monitor the dust collection bins and filters. If suction power decreases, it may indicate full bins or clogged filters. Do not allow bins to overfill, as this can reduce efficiency and potentially damage the unit.

4.4 Stopping the Dust Collector

Press the "OFF" button on the control panel. For emergency situations, press the large red emergency stop button. Always disconnect the main power supply when the unit is not in use or before any maintenance.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your dust collector.

5.1 Emptying Dust Collection Bins

Empty the dust collection bins regularly, ideally before they are completely full. Disconnect power before removing bins. Securely reattach bins after emptying to maintain a proper seal.
