Operating Instructions
Starting and Stopping
- To start the tool, depress the variable speed trigger.
- To stop the tool, release the variable speed trigger.
- The variable speed trigger allows you to control the cutting speed from 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute (SPM) by varying the pressure applied.
Cutting Techniques

Figure 3: The pivoting shoe allows for stable cuts in various positions.
- General Cutting: Place the shoe firmly against the workpiece. Depress the trigger to start the saw, then slowly guide the blade into the material. Allow the saw to do the work; do not force it.
- Plunge Cutting (Wood Only): For plunge cuts in wood, place the shoe firmly against the workpiece. Tilt the saw so the blade tip is angled away from the workpiece. Start the saw at full speed, then slowly pivot the saw until the blade plunges through the material.
- Metal Cutting: Use appropriate metal-cutting blades. Apply cutting oil to the blade and workpiece to reduce heat and extend blade life. Maintain a steady, moderate speed.
- Pipe Cutting: Secure the pipe to prevent rotation. Use a blade designed for the pipe material. Rotate the pipe as you cut for a cleaner, more even cut.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your tool.
- Cleaning: Keep the tool's ventilation openings clear and free of debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean dust and chips from the motor housing. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
- Blade Care: Replace dull or damaged blades promptly. A sharp blade cuts more efficiently and reduces strain on the tool.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all screws and fasteners for tightness. Check the power cord (if applicable) for damage.
- Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure location out of reach of children. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery pack. The tool is compatible with the VERSATRACK Wall Organization System (clip and accessories sold separately) for convenient storage.
