Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the machine.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or damage to the machine.

  • Always disconnect the machine from the power supply before cleaning, lubricating, or performing any maintenance.
  • Keep fingers, hair, and loose clothing away from all moving parts, especially the needle and walking foot area, during operation.
  • Ensure the machine is placed on a stable, level surface.
  • Do not operate the machine if any parts are damaged or missing.
  • Only use the machine for its intended purpose as an industrial sewing machine for heavy-weight materials.
  • Wear appropriate eye protection when operating the machine.
  • Keep the work area well-lit and free of clutter.

4.2 Adjustable Climbing Device (Walking Foot)

The FY-1541S features an adjustable climbing device, allowing you to dial in the walk height of the walking foot. This mechanism is crucial for feeding multiple layers of heavy material evenly and prevents the walking foot from snagging.

4.3 Stitch Length and Reverse Function

  • Stitch Length: Adjust the stitch length using the dial or lever on the machine head. The maximum stitch length is 9 mm.
  • Reverse Stitching: Engage the reverse lever for back-tacking at the beginning and end of seams to secure stitches.

4.4 Presser Foot Lift

The presser foot can be lifted up to 16 mm, typically using a knee lift mechanism. This high lift capacity accommodates very thick materials.

4.5 Speed Control

The Electronic DC Servo Motor allows for precise speed control, from 0 to 3300 RPM, via the foot pedal. This enables slow, controlled stitching for intricate work and higher speeds for long seams.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine.

  • Lubrication: Refer to the machine's lubrication points and schedule. Use only recommended sewing machine oil.
  • Cleaning: Regularly clean lint and thread debris from the bobbin case, feed dogs, and tension discs. Use a brush or vacuum.
  • Needle Replacement: Replace needles frequently, especially when sewing heavy materials, to prevent skipped stitches and thread breakage. Use the correct needle type and size for your fabric.
  • Belt Tension: Periodically check the motor belt tension. Adjust if too loose or too tight.
  • Professional Servicing: For complex issues or annual tune-ups, it is recommended to consult a professional sewing machine technician.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter. Always disconnect power before inspecting the machine.
