Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure you have adequate space under your sink for the RO unit and storage tank. The system is designed for easy DIY installation with quick-connect fittings and color-coded tubing.
Pre-Installation Checks:
Ensure your feed water pressure is between 15 - 50 PSI. This model is specifically designed for lower pressure environments.
Verify that the water temperature is between 40-110°F (5-45°C).
Confirm that the maximum TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is 1000 PPM.
Installation Steps:
Feed Water Diverter Valve Connection: Connect the feed water diverter valve to your cold water supply line. Ensure a secure, leak-free connection.
Figure 3: The RO membrane is crucial for reducing dissolved minerals and contaminants.
Tank Ball Valve Installation: Wrap 5-6 rolls of seal tape around the threads of the storage tank's top port. Screw the tank ball valve onto this port.
Faucet Installation: Choose a suitable location on your countertop or sink for the faucet. Drill a 1.5-inch hole if one is not already present. Install the faucet using the provided fittings, ensuring it is stable and leak-free.

Drain Saddle Installation: Attach the drain saddle to the drain pipe under your sink. This will connect the system's wastewater line.
Tubing Connections: Connect the color-coded tubing to the appropriate ports on the RO unit, storage tank, faucet, feed water valve, and drain saddle. Ensure all quick-connect fittings are pushed in completely and secured with clips.

Operating Instructions
After installation, it is crucial to properly prepare your system for first use:
Initial Flush: Turn on the feed water supply to the RO system. Allow the storage tank to fill completely (this may take 2-3 hours). Once full, open the RO faucet and let the tank drain completely. Repeat this process for the first two tanks of water. This flushes out any carbon fines and ensures optimal filter performance. Do not consume the first two tanks of water.
System Pressurization: After the initial flush, allow the system to pressurize fully, including the storage tank and faucet. Re-check all connections for any leaks before leaving the installation site.
Daily Use: The system will automatically turn on and off as water is drawn from the faucet and the storage tank needs refilling.
Figure 6: The system produces approximately 2 gallons of wastewater for every gallon of pure water.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Geekpure RO system. This primarily involves timely filter replacement.
Filter Replacement Schedule:
Filter Stage
Filter Type

Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your RO system.
Low Water Production or No Water:
Check feed water pressure. The booster pump is designed for low pressure, but extremely low pressure can still affect performance.
Ensure the storage tank is not full. If it is, the system will stop producing water.
Inspect filters for clogging. Replace filters according to the maintenance schedule.
Verify the RO membrane is not clogged. Replace if necessary.
Check for kinks in the tubing.
Leaks:
Tighten all connections, especially quick-connect fittings. Ensure tubing is fully inserted.
Check O-rings in filter housings. Ensure they are properly seated and not damaged.
Inspect the flush valve (if present and accessible) to ensure it is in the closed position during normal operation. An open flush valve can lead to continuous wastewater discharge and low pure water production.
Unpleasant Taste or Odor:
Replace carbon filters (Granular Carbon and Carbon Block) if they are past their recommended lifespan.
Ensure the Post Carbon Filter is functioning correctly.
Perform an initial flush if the system is new or filters have just been replaced.
Excessive Wastewater:
Check the flow restrictor on the drain line.
Ensure the RO membrane is not clogged. A clogged membrane can increase wastewater production.
Verify the automatic shut-off valve is functioning correctly.
