Setup

Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The auxiliary handle can be rotated 360 degrees for optimal positioning. Loosen the handle by twisting it counter-clockwise, position it as desired, and then tighten it by twisting clockwise until secure.

Installing and Removing Drill Bits

1. Ensure the tool is unplugged before changing any accessories.
2. Rotate the chuck collar counter-clockwise to open the chuck jaws.
3. Insert the drill bit fully into the chuck.
4. Rotate the chuck collar clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the drill bit. Ensure the bit is centered and secure.
5. To remove, rotate the chuck collar counter-clockwise and pull the bit out.

Setting the Depth Stop

The depth stop allows for precise drilling to a predetermined depth.

1. Insert the drill bit into the chuck.
2. Loosen the auxiliary handle.
3. Slide the depth stop rod through the hole in the auxiliary handle, with the flat end facing the drill bit.
4. Position the drill bit against the workpiece.
5. Adjust the depth stop rod until the desired drilling depth is achieved (the distance between the tip of the drill bit and the end of the depth stop rod).
6. Tighten the auxiliary handle to secure the depth stop.

Operating Instructions

Powering On and Off

• To start the tool, press the trigger switch.
• For continuous operation, press the lock-on button while the trigger is depressed. To release, press the trigger again.
• To stop the tool, release the trigger switch.

Selecting Drilling Mode

Your drill features two operating modes:

• Drilling Mode (Rotary Only): For drilling in wood, metal, plastics, and for driving screws. Set the mode selector to the drill icon.
• Hammer Drilling Mode (Rotary with Impact): For drilling in masonry, concrete, and brick. Set the mode selector to the hammer icon.

Adjusting Speed and Direction

• Speed Control: The speed control dial allows you to pre-select the maximum speed. The trigger switch provides variable speed control; the further it is pressed, the faster the drill rotates.
• Forward/Reverse: Use the forward/reverse switch to change the direction of rotation. Ensure the tool is stopped before changing direction.

• Secure Workpiece: Always clamp or otherwise secure the workpiece to prevent it from moving during drilling.
• Starting a Hole: Begin drilling at a slow speed to prevent the drill bit from wandering. Gradually increase speed once the hole is started.
• Applying Pressure: Apply steady, even pressure in line with the drill bit. Excessive pressure will not make the drill cut faster and can damage the bit or the tool.
• Clearing Debris: Periodically withdraw the drill bit from the hole to clear chips and dust, especially when drilling deep holes.
