4. Setup

5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to sharpen your HSS drill bits effectively:
- Select Drill Bit Size: Rotate the red adjustment knob on top of the sharpener to align with the diameter of the drill bit you wish to sharpen (e.g., 3.0 mm, 6.5 mm, 12.0 mm).
- Power On: Press the red power switch to the "ON" position. The grinding stone will begin to rotate.
- Insert Drill Bit: Carefully insert the drill bit into the corresponding sharpening port. Ensure the drill bit is inserted straight and fully into the guide.
- Sharpening Process: Gently press the drill bit against the grinding stone. Rotate the drill bit slightly back and forth within the port to ensure even sharpening of both cutting edges. Apply light, consistent pressure.
- Check Sharpness: Periodically remove the drill bit and check its sharpness. Repeat the process if necessary until the desired sharpness is achieved. Ensure both cutting edges are symmetrical and sharp. The sharpening angle is approximately 118°.
- Power Off: Once sharpening is complete, press the power switch to the "OFF" position and unplug the device from the mains.
- Clean: Remove any metal shavings or dust from the sharpening ports using a brush (not included) or compressed air.
Note: For optimal results, ensure the drill bit is clean before sharpening. Do not attempt to sharpen drill bits made of materials other than HSS.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your drill bit sharpener.
- Cleaning: After each use, unplug the device and clean the sharpening ports and the exterior with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Grinding Stone Replacement: The grinding stone is a consumable part and will wear down over time. When sharpening performance decreases, refer to the included instructions for replacing the grinding stone. Two replacement stones are provided with the unit.
- Storage: Store the sharpener in a dry, dust-free place, out of reach of children.
