5.4. Adjusting Center Column
- Loosen the center column locking knob.
- Raise or lower the center column to fine-tune the tripod's height.
- Tighten the center column locking knob to secure it.
- For low-angle or macro photography, the center column can be inverted. To do this, fully extend and remove the center column, then reinsert it upside down.

- Loosen the QR plate knob on the ball head.
- Slide the quick release plate with your camera into the clamp on the ball head.
- Tighten the QR plate knob to secure the camera.
- Use the locking knob to adjust the ball head's position and the panning knob for horizontal rotation.
6. Operating Modes
6.1. Tripod Mode
The standard tripod configuration provides maximum stability for still photography and video recording. Adjust leg angles and extensions as needed for your shooting environment.
6.2. Monopod Conversion
To convert your Traveler 7A into a monopod:
- Identify the leg with the foam grip. This is the detachable monopod leg.
- Unscrew this leg from the tripod chassis.
- Unscrew the center column from the tripod chassis.
- Attach the ball head (or directly your camera if preferred) to the top of the detached leg.
- Alternatively, attach the detached leg to the bottom of the center column for extended monopod height.

6.3. Panoramic Shooting
The E-10 ball head features a 360° panoramic base. Loosen the panning knob to rotate the camera smoothly for panoramic shots without adjusting the ball head's tilt.
6.4. Macro Photography (Inverted Center Column)
For extreme low-angle or macro photography, invert the center column as described in Section 5.4. This allows your camera to be positioned very close to the ground or even below the tripod's base.
7. Maintenance
- Regularly clean the tripod legs and locking mechanisms with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the tripod to excessive sand, dust, or saltwater, as these can damage the leg locks. If exposed, clean thoroughly immediately.
- Do not overtighten knobs or locks, as this can cause wear and tear.
- Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a dry, cool place when not in use.
8. Troubleshooting
- Legs not extending/retracting smoothly: Check for dirt or debris in the twist locks. Clean thoroughly.
- Camera not secure on ball head: Ensure the quick release plate is properly attached to the camera and the QR plate knob on the ball head is fully tightened.
- Tripod instability: Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and locked, and leg angles are set appropriately for the terrain. Consider hanging a weight from the center column hook for added stability.
