4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

• Carefully remove all packaging materials.
• Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and supplier.
• Remove all protective films and tapes from the exterior and interior surfaces.

4.2 Location Requirements

• Place the ice maker on a level, sturdy surface capable of supporting its weight when full of ice and water.
• Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Maintain at least 6 inches of clearance from walls and other objects for proper airflow.
• Avoid direct sunlight or proximity to heat sources.
• The ambient temperature should be between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C).
• Ensure a floor drain or suitable drainage system is available for the drain hose.

4.3 Water Connection

• Connect the provided inlet hose to a potable water supply with a shut-off valve. The water pressure should be between 20-80 PSI.
• Connect the other end of the inlet hose to the water inlet connection on the back of the ice maker.
• Connect the provided drain hose to the drain outlet on the ice maker and route it to a floor drain, ensuring a continuous downward slope for proper drainage.
• Check all connections for leaks.

4.4 Electrical Connection

• Ensure the electrical supply matches the specifications of the ice maker (110 Volts, 60Hz).
• Plug the ice maker into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Startup

• After connecting water and power, turn on the water supply valve.
• Locate the power switch (refer to Figure 3.4) and switch it to the "ICE" position.
• The ice maker will begin its ice-making cycle. The first batch of ice may take longer and should be discarded to ensure cleanliness.

5.2 Ice Production

• The machine will automatically produce ice until the storage bin is full, then it will pause.
• When ice is removed from the bin, the machine will resume production automatically.
• Use the provided ice scoop (Figure 3.6) to retrieve ice from the bin.

5.3 Shutting Down

• To temporarily stop ice production, switch the power button to the "OFF" position.
• For extended shutdown or maintenance, switch the power button to "OFF", unplug the unit, and close the water supply valve.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ice maker.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

• Wipe down the exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
• Clean the ice scoop after each use.

6.2 Weekly Cleaning

• Empty the ice bin and clean its interior with a food-safe sanitizer. Rinse thoroughly.
• Check and clean the air filter located on the front or side of the unit. A clogged filter reduces efficiency.

6.3 Monthly / Quarterly Descaling and Sanitizing

Depending on water hardness and usage, the ice maker's internal components will require descaling and sanitizing. Refer to the "CLEAN" setting on the power switch (Figure 3.4).

1. Turn off the ice maker and unplug it. Close the water supply valve.
2. Drain any remaining water from the reservoir.
3. Prepare a descaling solution according to manufacturer's instructions (typically a citric acid-based solution).
4. Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
5. Plug in the unit and switch the power button to the "CLEAN" position. The machine will run a cleaning cycle.
6. After the cleaning cycle, drain the solution and rinse the reservoir thoroughly.
7. Repeat the process with a sanitizing solution (e.g., diluted bleach solution, following food-safe guidelines) if sanitization is required.
8. Rinse multiple times with fresh water to remove all traces of cleaning solutions before resuming ice production.
