2. Safety Instructions

Please read and understand these safety instructions before using the lamp. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

• Ensure the lamp is placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent tipping.
• Do not exceed the maximum wattage specified for the bulb (E27, max. 40W).
• Always unplug the lamp from the power outlet before cleaning or changing the bulb.
• Keep the lamp away from water or other liquids. Do not use in damp environments.
• Do not cover the lampshade or bulb with flammable materials.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
• This lamp is for indoor use only.

4. Setup and Assembly

The Relaxdays Retro Articulated Desk Lamp comes largely pre-assembled. Follow these steps for initial setup:

1. Placement: Choose a stable and flat surface for the lamp, such as a desk or bedside table. Ensure there is enough space for the articulated arm to move freely.
2. Bulb Installation: Unscrew the lampshade to access the E27 socket. Carefully screw in an E27 bulb (maximum 40W) into the socket. Do not overtighten.
3. Power Connection: Plug the power cable into a suitable 220-240V electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Using your Relaxdays Desk Lamp is straightforward:

1. Turning On/Off: Locate the inline switch on the power cable. Press the switch to turn the lamp on or off.
2. Adjusting Position: The lamp features three articulated joints and a 360° rotatable lampshade and arm. Gently adjust the arm and shade to direct the light as needed. The height is adjustable from approximately 27 cm to 60 cm.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your lamp, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning. Wipe the lamp with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
• Bulb Replacement: Always ensure the lamp is unplugged and the bulb has cooled down before attempting to replace it.
• Inspection: Periodically check the power cord and plug for any signs of damage. If damage is found, discontinue use and contact a qualified electrician for repair or replacement.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your lamp, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Lamp does not turn on:
  • Check if the lamp is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
  • Ensure the inline switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Verify that the light bulb is correctly installed and not burnt out. Replace the bulb if necessary.

• Light flickers:
  • Ensure the bulb is screwed in tightly.

9.1. Notes on the Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and the Meaning of the Symbol in Annex 3 of the ElektroG:

Owners of used equipment must dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. Electrical and electronic waste must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste and should not be placed in household bins. Instead, such waste must be collected separately and disposed of, for example, through local collection and return systems. Owners of used devices are also required to separate used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by their old device before handing them over to a collection point. This does not apply if the waste is separated from other used equipment in accordance with § 14, paragraph 5, sentences 2 and 3, ElektroG as part of the option by public waste management authorities for the purpose of preparing for reuse. The symbol in Annex 3 of the ElektroG allows owners to identify old devices that must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. The symbol for separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment depicts a crossed-out wheeled bin.

9.2. Notes on Equipment Return Options:

Owners of waste equipment can hand it over within the framework of the return or collection options for waste equipment established by the public service and available to ensure proper waste disposal. If applicable, it is also possible to hand over electrical and electronic devices for the purpose of reusing the devices.
