9.1. Notes on the Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and the Meaning of the Symbol in Annex 3 of the ElektroG:
Owners of used equipment must dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. Electrical and electronic waste must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste and should not be placed in household bins. Instead, such waste must be collected separately and disposed of, for example, through local collection and return systems. Owners of used devices are also required to separate used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by their old device before handing them over to a collection point. The symbol in Annex 3 of the ElektroG allows owners to identify old devices that must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. The symbol for separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment depicts a crossed-out wheeled bin.
9.2. Notes on Equipment Return Options:
Owners of waste equipment can hand it over within the framework of the return or collection options for waste equipment established by the public service and available to ensure proper waste disposal. If applicable, it is also possible to hand over electrical and electronic devices for the purpose of reusing the devices. Further information on this can be found at the respective collection or return point.
