Important Safety Instructions

  • Always ensure the appliance is unplugged from the power outlet before cleaning, assembling, or disassembling parts.

Setup and Initial Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the appliance and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Cleaning Plates: Before first use, wipe the non-stick cooking plates with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
  3. Installing Plates:
    • Ensure the appliance is unplugged and cool.
    • Identify the desired plates (waffle or wafer).
    • Align the plate tabs with the slots on the appliance.
    • Press the plate ejection button (if plates are already installed) and gently slide the new plates into place until they click securely.
    • The plates are reversible; ensure the desired cooking surface is facing upwards.
  4. First Use Burn-Off: It is recommended to operate the appliance empty for approximately 10 minutes during the first use. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process. Ensure good ventilation.
  5. Seasoning Plates: After the burn-off, allow the appliance to cool. Lightly brush or spray a small amount of cooking oil onto the non-stick plates. This helps maintain the non-stick properties.

Operating Instructions

  1. Preparation: Ensure the correct plates are installed and lightly oiled. Prepare your waffle or wafer batter.
  2. Power On: Plug the appliance into a suitable electrical outlet. The orange undermount indicator light will illuminate, indicating the appliance is powered on.
  3. Preheating: Allow the appliance to preheat. The green indicator light will illuminate and a cooking beep will sound when the appliance has reached the optimal cooking temperature. This typically takes a few minutes.
  4. Adjusting Settings:
    • Waffle Finish Adjustment Knob: Use this knob to select your desired waffle texture (fluffy or crisp).
    • Cooking Degree Adjustment Knob: Use this knob to control the browning level of your waffles or wafers.
  5. Adding Batter: Once preheated, carefully pour or ladle the batter onto the center of the lower cooking plate. Do not overfill, as the batter will expand.
  6. Closing the Lid: Gently close the lid. The appliance is designed to cook evenly.
  7. Cooking Process: The green indicator light will turn off during cooking and will illuminate again, accompanied by a beep, when the cooking cycle is complete. The cooking time will vary based on batter type, desired browning, and selected settings.
  8. Removing Cooked Items: Once cooking is complete, carefully open the lid. Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden utensil to remove the waffles or wafers. Do not use metal utensils, as they can damage the non-stick coating.
  9. Subsequent Batches: Close the lid to allow the appliance to reheat between batches. The green indicator light will signal when it's ready for the next batch.
  10. Power Off: When finished cooking, unplug the appliance from the power outlet.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your appliance.
