Installation Instructions

Professional installation is recommended for this ceiling fan. Ensure you have all necessary tools before beginning. Refer to local electrical codes for specific requirements.

Step-by-Step Installation:

  1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker that supplies power to the ceiling fan location and turn it off. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Mounting Bracket Installation: Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box. Ensure the junction box is securely fastened to the building structure and can support the fan's weight.
  3. Downrod Assembly: Insert the downrod through the canopy and coupling cover. Feed the motor wires through the downrod.
  4. Hang Fan Motor: Carefully lift the fan motor assembly and place the downrod ball into the mounting bracket opening.
  5. Electrical Connections: Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate wiring guide (not included in this general manual). Typically, this involves connecting live, neutral, and ground wires. Use wire nuts to secure connections.
  6. Secure Canopy: Slide the canopy up to the ceiling and secure it to the mounting bracket with the provided screws.
  7. Blade Attachment: Attach the fan blades to the blade brackets, then secure the blade brackets to the motor housing. Ensure all screws are tightened.
  8. Light Kit Installation: Connect the light kit wires to the fan motor housing wires. Secure the light kit assembly to the bottom of the fan motor housing. Install the crystal grid shades onto the light fixtures.
  9. Bulb Installation: Install three (3) E26 60W bulbs and three (3) E12 60W bulbs (not included) into their respective sockets within the light kit.
  10. Pull Chain Attachment: Attach the decorative pull chains to the fan speed and light switches.

Operating Instructions

Your Pristil ceiling fan is operated by two pull chains, one for fan speed control and one for light control.

Fan Speed Control:

  • Pull the fan speed chain once for high speed.
  • Pull again for medium speed.
  • Pull again for low speed.
  • Pull a fourth time to turn the fan off.

Light Control:

  • Pull the light chain once to turn the lights on.
  • Pull again to turn the lights off.

Note: The fan also features a reversible motor for seasonal use. A small switch on the motor housing (often near the downrod) allows you to change the direction of airflow. Downward airflow is ideal for cooling in summer, while upward airflow helps circulate warm air in winter.

Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: To clean the fan, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish or crystal shades.
  • Blade Cleaning: Dust the fan blades regularly to prevent dust buildup, which can cause wobbling.
  • Crystal Shades: Gently wipe the crystal grid shades with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild glass cleaner can be used sparingly on the crystals, avoiding contact with the metal finish.
  • Lubrication: The fan motor is permanently lubricated and does not require oiling.
  • Tightening Screws: Periodically check all screws on the fan and light kit for tightness. Retighten as necessary.
