1. Setup

This section guides you through the initial setup of your FIVE SENSES 1523 English Atomic Talking Watch.

1.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the watch from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage. Ensure all components, including the watch and any additional bands, are present.

1.2 Wake Up the Watch

If the watch is not running, it may be in sleep mode. To wake it up, press and hold the 2 o'clock button for 3 seconds. The watch hands will then begin to move, indicating it is active.

1.3 Setting the Time Zone

The watch needs to be set to your local time zone to ensure accurate atomic time synchronization. Follow these steps:

1. Hold the 8 o'clock button for 5 seconds to enter the setting menu. The watch will announce "Set Time Zone".
2. Press the 2 o'clock button repeatedly to cycle through the available time zones (USA Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern, UK, Germany, Japan).
3. Once your desired time zone is announced, press the 4 o'clock button to confirm. The watch hands will then spin to match the selected time zone.

2.1 Announcing Time and Date

• To hear the current time: Press the 2 o'clock button once. The watch will announce the current time.
• To hear the current date: Press the 4 o'clock button once. The watch will announce the current date (day, month, day of the month).

2.2 Setting the Alarm

You can set a daily alarm on your watch. Pay attention to AM/PM settings.

1. Hold the 8 o'clock button for 5 seconds to enter the setting menu. The watch will announce "Set Alarm".
2. Press the 2 o'clock button repeatedly to set the desired alarm hour. The watch will announce the hour and AM/PM.
3. Press the 4 o'clock button repeatedly to set the desired alarm minute. The watch will announce the minute.
4. Press the 8 o'clock button to confirm the alarm time. The watch will announce the set alarm time.

2.3 Alarm ON/OFF

The alarm is automatically set to ON once a new alarm time is configured. You can manually toggle the alarm status.

• To turn the alarm ON: Press the 2 o'clock button once. The watch will announce "Alarm On".
• To turn the alarm OFF: Press the 4 o'clock button once. The watch will announce "Alarm Off".
• To check alarm status: Press the 10 o'clock button once. The watch will announce if the alarm is ON or OFF and the set time if ON.

2.4 Hourly Time Announcement (Chime)

The watch can be set to announce the time every hour.

1. Hold the 8 o'clock button for 5 seconds to enter the setting menu. The watch will announce "Set Chime".
2. Press the 2 o'clock button to toggle the chime ON or OFF.
3. Press the 4 o'clock button to confirm the setting.

2.5 Automatic Time Setting (Atomic Synchronization)

Your watch automatically synchronizes with the atomic clock signal (for UK & USA only) every night. It also adjusts for Daylight Saving Time.

• For optimal signal reception, place the watch face-down near a non-metallic window overnight.
• The watch will automatically update its time and date after picking up the atomic signal.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Battery Replacement

4.1 Voice Not Working or Hands Not Matching Voice

If the watch's voice function stops working or the analog hands do not match the announced time, you may need to perform a hands alignment procedure.

1. Hold the 8 o'clock button for 5 seconds to enter the setting menu.
2. Press the 2 o'clock button repeatedly until the watch announces "Second Hand Alignment".
3. Wait until the second hand stops. If it does not stop, hold the 4 o'clock button for 8 seconds until it starts fast spinning.
4. Release the 4 o'clock button and press it again to check if the second hand can move. If not, repeat the previous step.
5. Once the second hand is moving, pull out the crown when the second hand is stopping at 12 o'clock.
6. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to 12 o'clock.
7. Push the crown back in. The watch will then spin to match the internal talking time.

4.2 Incorrect Time After Time Zone Setting

If there is an hour difference after setting the time zone, it may be due to Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes. Place the watch face-down near a non-metallic window overnight to allow it to pick up the atomic signal and update the time automatically.
