Setup and Installation
1. Bulb Installation
- Ensure the power to the light fixture is turned off at the switch before installation.
- Screw the ERIA A19 Smart Light Bulb into a standard E26/E27 light socket.
- Turn on the power to the light fixture. The bulb should illuminate.
2. Dimmer Switch Setup (No Hub Required)
The dimmer switch and bulb are pre-programmed to work together out of the box.
- The dimmer switch comes with a magnetic wall base. You can mount this base to a wall using screws (if replacing an existing switch) or adhesive strips (not included) for flexible placement.
- Place the dimmer switch onto the magnetic wall base.
- Ensure the bulb is powered on. The dimmer switch should now be able to control the bulb.

3. Pairing with a Zigbee Hub (Optional, for Advanced Features)
To unlock advanced functionalities and integrate with smart home systems like Philips Hue, SmartThings, or Hubitat, you will need to pair the devices with a compatible Zigbee hub.
Pairing the Dimmer Switch to a Philips Hue Network:
- Reset the Remote: Hold down the two middle buttons (dimmer up and dimmer down) simultaneously until the green light on the remote flashes once. This resets the remote to factory settings.
- Add Switch in Hue App: Open the Philips Hue app on your smartphone. Navigate to "Settings" > "Accessory setup" > "Add accessory" > "Hue Dimmer Switch". Choose "Add a new switch" and proceed even if the app asks about a flashing green light (it won't be flashing yet).
- Join Remote to Hue Network: Take the ERIA remote near your Philips Hue Bridge. Hold down the "Off" button (the 'O' symbol) until the green light on the remote flashes three times. If you see three red flashes, the remote failed to join; repeat from step 1. This step may require multiple attempts.
- Verify Connection: Once successful, the green light on the remote will flash once every time a button is pressed, even if not yet paired with bulbs. Note that the ERIA remote will not appear directly in the Hue app's accessory list.
- Pair Remote with Bulbs (Touchlink): To pair the remote with one or more bulbs, hold the remote directly touching the bulb. Press and hold the "On" button (the 'I' symbol) until the bulb flashes a few times. Philips bulbs typically flash three times, then once more after a delay. ERIA bulbs flash three times and then dim twice. Be patient and keep the button held until the bulb responds.
- Repeat for Multiple Bulbs: Repeat step 5 for all bulbs you wish to control with this remote. The remote will control all touchlink-paired bulbs simultaneously.
Important Note: If you touchlink bind bulbs to the remote before joining the remote to the Hue network, the bulbs may become locked to the remote and appear unreachable in the Hue app. To resolve this, you may need to reset the bulb and re-join it to your Hue network. Philips bulbs only support touchlink for the first 30 seconds after power is applied.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement (Dimmer Switch)
The ERIA Dimmer Switch is powered by one CR2 battery, which typically provides a reliable 3-year battery life.
- Carefully remove the dimmer switch from its magnetic wall base.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the switch.
- Open the compartment and replace the old CR2 battery with a new one, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment and reattach the switch to its base.
Cleaning
To clean the dimmer switch or bulb, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the product.
Troubleshooting
- Lights not responding to remote:
- Ensure the smart bulb is powered on at the wall switch or fixture.
- Check the battery in the dimmer switch. Replace if necessary.
- Verify that the remote and bulb are within the operational range (up to 90 feet).
- If using with a hub, ensure the hub is online and the devices are properly paired.
- Try re-pairing the remote and bulb using the setup instructions.
- Lights turning on/off randomly:
- This could indicate interference from other wireless devices. Try repositioning the bulb or remote, or other electronics in the vicinity.
- Ensure no other smart home routines or schedules are inadvertently controlling the lights.
- Dimmer switch buttons feel unresponsive or stick:
- Ensure the battery is not low.
- If the issue persists, contact customer support.
- Bulb not recognized by smart home hub:
- Ensure the bulb is powered on and within range of the hub.
- Perform a factory reset on the bulb (typically by cycling power on/off several times). Refer to your hub's instructions for adding new Zigbee devices.
- If the bulb was previously touchlink-paired directly to the remote without a hub, it might be locked. Reset the bulb and try pairing to the hub first.
