1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Green Cell 800VA 480W Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use, and retain it for future reference.
The Green Cell UPS is designed to protect your electronic devices from power outages, surges, and fluctuations, ensuring a stable power supply and preventing data loss or hardware damage.
2. Safety Instructions
- Do not open the UPS casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Do not operate the UPS in environments with excessive humidity, dust, or extreme temperatures.
- Ensure the UPS is connected to a grounded power outlet.
- Do not connect appliances that draw high current, such as laser printers, heaters, or vacuum cleaners, to the UPS output.
- In case of fire, use a dry chemical extinguisher. Water can cause electrical shock.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in the package:

4. Setup
4.1 Placement
Place the UPS in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow.
4.2 Connecting to Power
- Connect the UPS power cable to a grounded wall outlet.
- Allow the UPS to charge for at least 8 hours before initial use to ensure optimal battery performance. The UPS will charge whether it is turned on or off.
4.3 Connecting Devices
- Plug your computer, monitor, and other critical devices into the UPS output sockets. Ensure the total power consumption of connected devices does not exceed the UPS's rated capacity (480W).
- For data communication and monitoring, connect the USB cable from the UPS to your computer.

5. Operating
5.1 Turning On/Off
- To Turn On: Press and hold the power button on the front panel for approximately 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the display illuminates.
- To Turn Off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds until the display turns off.
5.2 Front Panel Display and Indicators

Figure 3: Front panel with LCD display. The display shows real-time operational status including input voltage, output voltage, battery charge level, and connected load level.
The LCD display provides real-time status information:
- Input Voltage: Shows the current voltage from the wall outlet.
- Output Voltage: Displays the voltage supplied by the UPS to connected devices.
- Battery Level: Indicates the remaining battery charge.
- Load Level: Shows the percentage of the UPS's capacity being used by connected devices.
- Battery Mode Indicator: Illuminates when the UPS is operating on battery power during a power outage.
5.3 Battery Backup Function
During a power outage, the UPS will automatically switch to battery power, providing continuous power to connected devices. An audible alarm will sound to indicate battery mode. The duration of backup power depends on the battery charge level and the load connected.
5.4 Overload Protection
If the connected load exceeds the UPS's capacity, an overload alarm will sound, and the UPS may shut down to prevent damage. Disconnect non-essential devices to reduce the load.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Care
- To prolong battery life, avoid frequent deep discharges.
- If the UPS is stored for an extended period, recharge it every 3 months for at least 8 hours.
- Battery replacement should only be performed by qualified personnel.
6.2 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the UPS with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Ensure the ventilation openings are free from dust and obstructions.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| UPS does not turn on | No input power; Low battery; Power button not held long enough | Check power cable connection; Allow UPS to charge; Press and hold power button for 3 seconds |
