4. Setup

Follow these steps to properly set up your Bosch Power Change Plus Adapter with a power drill and hole saw:

1. Prepare the Drill: Ensure your SDS Plus rotary hammer drill is unplugged or its battery is removed. Clean the drill chuck to remove any debris.
2. Insert the Adapter: Insert the SDS Plus shank of the Power Change Plus Adapter into the SDS Plus chuck of your rotary hammer drill. Push and twist until it clicks securely into place. Pull on the adapter to confirm it is locked.

3. Attach Pilot Drill Bit (Optional but Recommended): If using a pilot drill bit, insert its shank into the central opening of the Power Change Plus Adapter. Push firmly until it clicks into place.
4. Attach Hole Saw: Align the hole saw with the adapter's outer ring. Push the hole saw onto the adapter until it clicks and locks securely. The quick-change mechanism allows for tool-free attachment.

5. Verify Connection: Gently pull on the hole saw and pilot bit to ensure they are firmly seated and will not detach during operation.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the Power Change Plus Adapter and desired accessories are securely attached, you can begin drilling. Always ensure the workpiece is stable and clamped if necessary.

1. Select Drill Mode: Set your rotary hammer drill to the appropriate mode for drilling (e.g., rotary drilling for wood/metal, hammer drilling for masonry if using a suitable hole saw).
2. Position the Tool: Place the pilot drill bit at the desired drilling location on the workpiece. Apply steady, even pressure.
3. Begin Drilling: Start the drill at a low speed and gradually increase as the hole saw begins to cut into the material. Maintain consistent pressure.

4. Maintain Control: Keep a firm grip on the drill and ensure proper body posture to counteract torque.

5. Clear Debris: Periodically withdraw the hole saw to clear chips and debris, especially when drilling deep holes or in soft materials.

6. Finish Cut: Once the cut is complete, release the drill trigger and allow the tool to come to a complete stop before removing it from the workpiece.
7. Change Accessories: To change the pilot drill bit or hole saw, simply pull back the quick-release collar on the adapter and remove the accessory. Insert the new accessory and push until it clicks into place.
