Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage:

• Power Disconnection: Always disconnect power to the bug killer unit before attempting to install, remove, or clean the bulb.
• Handle with Care: UV bulbs contain mercury and should be handled with care. Avoid touching the glass part of the bulb directly with bare hands, as oils can reduce bulb life. Use gloves or a clean cloth.
• Proper Disposal: Dispose of old bulbs according to local regulations for hazardous waste, as they contain mercury. Do not dispose of in regular household trash.
• Intended Use: This bulb is designed for use only with compatible Stinger BK100 Bug Killers. Using it with incompatible devices may cause damage or malfunction.
• Eye Protection: Avoid direct exposure to UV light, as it can be harmful to eyes and skin. Ensure the bug killer unit's protective cage is intact during operation.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to safely replace the bulb in your Stinger BK100 Bug Killer:

1. Disconnect Power: Unplug the Stinger BK100 Bug Killer from the electrical outlet.
2. Access Bulb Compartment: Refer to your Stinger BK100 Bug Killer's original manual for instructions on how to safely open the unit and access the bulb compartment.
3. Remove Old Bulb: Carefully grasp the old bulb and gently pull it straight out from its socket. Avoid twisting or bending the pins.
4. Insert New Bulb: Align the four pins of the new Technical Precision replacement bulb with the corresponding slots in the socket. Gently push the bulb straight into the socket until it is firmly seated. Do not force it.
5. Secure Unit: Close and secure the bulb compartment and any protective covers on your bug killer unit.
6. Reconnect Power: Plug the Stinger BK100 Bug Killer back into the electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Once the bulb is correctly installed and the bug killer unit is reassembled and plugged in, the bulb will illuminate when the bug killer is powered on. The UV light emitted by this bulb is designed to attract flying insects to the bug killer's electrified grid.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your bulb:

• Cleaning: Periodically, with the power disconnected, gently wipe the bulb with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dust or debris that may accumulate and reduce light output.
• Replacement Schedule: UV bulbs typically have an effective lifespan for insect attraction. It is recommended to replace the bulb annually, even if it still illuminates, to maintain peak performance.

Troubleshooting

If the bulb does not illuminate after installation:

• Check Power: Ensure the bug killer unit is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
• Verify Installation: Disconnect power and re-check that the bulb's pins are fully and correctly seated in the socket.
• Inspect Bulb: Carefully inspect the bulb for any visible damage, such as cracks or broken pins. If damaged, replace with a new bulb.
• Unit Malfunction: If the bulb is correctly installed and undamaged, and still does not light, the issue may be with the bug killer unit itself. Refer to the bug killer's manual or contact its manufacturer for further assistance.
